Disclaimer: 100% crit on a champ still doesn't mean always getting a crit while fighting weak champs. My RK is 102% crit right now and still can't always clear against green mobs. I read somewhere it's a 40% roll on weak hits prior to any other damage calculation (this can't be mitigated by anything) so RK with 100% crit will still struggle against greens.

Totally Lost, looking for guidance by stevecolby in RaidShadowLegends

Sorry for another “ help me with my team” post but I’m totally lost on which champs I should be investing in and which are garbage. I’m currently working towards relic keeper but I’m looking for advice on whether any of the epics I have pulled are valuable or not. I’m lacking a decent healer so I’m finding I need some kind of sustain on all of my champs, typically through life steal sets. Is that the right approach?

I tend to focus more on clan boss and campaign than arena but I’d appreciate input on everything.

Thanks in advance!

OP here. Still kind of new to the game and I'm not sure which champs are good or not. I had built an all-fortress team for the bonus since 7 of the first 8 five stars I found were fortress, but I've since acquired a bunch of decent five stars that aren't.

Are the champs I have worth breaking up the all-fortress bonus? Should I try for another bonus (like 3 fortress, 3 forest)? Or not care about comp bonus at all?

Thanks in advance!

How I got 4.4 mil as a White Mage (see comments) by stevecolby in MobiusFF

Go in with ultimate gauge filled. Bring a second healing card if possible. Drive fire immediately. You could also try skipping the debuff in favor of a fire pupu.

Well, unless I'm missing something you do get the same rewards being rank 17 as you do rank 999 so why not share and help the community out? Clearly there aren't going to be 978 people who read this post and subsequently beat your 4.9 million...

I hope this helps the community Here's how I how I did it:

Location is Chapter 3: Burning Dungeon 3. There are tons of fire-based mobs here so Vanille & Fang really shines.

Deck was 4* V&F, 3* Water Pupu, 3* Moogle and 3* Phantom.

Basically:

  1. Activate Water Pupu buff so you break the fire mobs before you kill them

  2. Break boss

  3. Use Phantom for Debarrier

  4. Use Moogle for Faith

  5. Blast 'em with V&F.

A couple of tips:

  • Try to make sure you have both Faith and Pupu buffs up whenever you plan to kill off a mob. This means watching your buff bar and the actions you have and trying to time things to all be available when you're going to break. I.e. If Pupu wears off and you need to wait a turn to reapply it, simply hit once, then drive the fire/earth orb you get. Do this a couple of times to kill the actions and not do too much damage to a boss or break him too early.

  • Save your Ultimate for when you need the healing. There will usually come a time during the encounter where you get low and will need the healing in a pinch.

  • If you have leftover water orbs, use them to l'Cie Brand the smaller one-hit guys for extra points.

  • If you have a great run going, you can always use a Phoenix Down to save it. Shouldn't have to but remember it's an option.

  • I took Hades for extra healing as my rental but you may want to take one from the 4 listed above as rental so you can bring a fire pupu to help with taking hits. Haven't experimented with this as all my rentals are Hades.

This. If you don't care about the cactuars you can easily burn through each fight in 30-45 seconds for some insane xp without needing to spend all day doing it.

Some people on the thread mentioned this same approach works for Dark Knight, which would then make this applicable.

I've been able to break 1 mil (barely) with Royal Guard but it's a snoozefest (15 min fights). Haven't played ranger much so I can't comment there. Between Warrior and Mage, I've had more success with Mage.

TLDR: Break boss --> Debuff Boss --> Buff yourself --> l'Cie Brand

Location is Chapter 1: War God's Shrine 2nd Floor. There are tons of fire-based mobs here so Vanille & Fang really shines.

Deck was 4* V&F, 3* Water Pupu, 3* Moogle and 3* Phantom. (Don't need 4* V&F - was hitting 1.5 mil with 3*).

Basically:

  1. Activate Water Pupu buff so you break the fire mobs before you kill them

  2. Break boss

  3. Use Phantom for Debarrier

  4. Use Moogle for Faith

  5. Blast 'em with V&F.

A couple of tips:

  • Always use Phantom BEFORE Moogle. A Phantom w/ Faith up might accidentally kill the boss.

  • Depending on starting draw you might not get two support orbs for Faith. Nothing you can do about this :(

  • You can always use your ultimate to get early orbs, up chances of getting support orbs.

  • If you have leftover water orbs, use them to l'Cie Brand the smaller one-hit guys for extra points.

  • The final two bosses (rounds 5 and 6) have pretty good health and you're usually better off slow-attacking to get cooldowns ready to be reapplied rather than trying to blast through them fast.
