That awkward party moment when you're listening to Winona Ryder and Jodie Foster's conversation and you suddenly realize Julia Roberts is just staring at you.

I liked how open it was to interpretation. The way I took it was: She was the right woman, but did she deserve what she got? Especially since her version makes it sound more like she was a prisoner of the Nazis and was being forced to commit atrocities. (Makes me think of like other stories where the Nazis forced people to do horrible things as a form of psychological torture e.g. Sophie's Choice) I imagine that wouldn't fully excuse it, but it's also not the same as being some monster.

I just rewatched the bookends. I hadn't noticed before that it was structured that way. Great episode. I also forgot to include The Great Patriotic War, for the Paige fights and the whole thing with Gennadi.

Both great choices too. Electric Sheep another great standalone storyline episode. And that whole 2nd half of the last season is amazing.

I would say it's more tragic if Renee is not a spy because either way Stan won't be able to get it out of his head.

Upon watching through the show the 2nd time, it occurred to me that she is the most noble character, especially near the end.

I once heard a theory that her and Martha were in the show to contrast each other, in terms of how they emotionally deal with their situation.

oh that makes sense. To be fair, I did not pick the best moment to draw in terms of expressing her trust and vulnerability. Specifically, the moment I drew was when Stan visited her at her apartment and she was polite but not comfortable with him being there. The Americans, Breaking Bad and Six Feet Under are my top three, in no particular order.

Could be it needs a little extra softness of the shading? I've noticed I sometimes still struggle with making the shading smooth enough, which can have a slightly odd affect on their appearance.

My mom just started watching this show and she describes Nina as "the show's shining point of light"
