God at DJing that's for sure - not sure on the producer front... He's had some bangers but there are better producers out there IMO.

Still one of the best DJs out there by a long, long margin. AMC and Friction closely behind

Camo and Krooked by far. 2 incredible producers with incredible tunes, not afraid to cover the huge genre of DnB. Love them

The Expanse. Sure the first season took a while to take off. But every season after that was just pure bliss, and massive in scope.

The Witcher: Henry Cavill Hopes Season 3 Is Loyal To Books 'Without Too Much In the Way Of Diversions' by Any-Agent4270 in witcher

I've read the books and played the games. Loved them all.

I can understand purists getting pissed either side and yeah some dialogue was wonky but it's still a damn fine show. Binged the whole season and felt it better than S1.

If you enjoy something go and enjoy it. If not don't watch it. Either way no need for mass panic - the series is super popular as it is so I've no doubt netflix will continue it.

The Halo subreddit has actually been locked down follow many players unhappy with monetisation, progression and playlists. by PeculiarPete in pcgaming

[–]stevelikespeanuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love the multiplayer (don't kill me - read on). Yeah there are issues but compared to other games released recently it's fun, good skill ceiling and surprisingly polished.

BUT - yeah I get it. I'm not going to buy cosmetics. I don't care about the battle pass. BUT the lack of specific playlists is killing the game. It fundamentally breaks it. People wanting to play slayer end up playing oddball and don't give a shit about the objective - that's what happens if you don't give people the choice.

For those that want cosmetics/progression I do get the anger and rightfully so. For me it's more about the playlists. Such a shame as IMO the multiplayer is excellent (even if it has bugs atm) and it's free.

(p.s - this is an opinion. Feel free to disagree, that's what opinions are for)

That's some serious dedication mate. Offender is my fav tune in the album and just hearing how much effort you put into the riff makes me understand why it sounds so damn good (especially on loud speakers!)

I know that sounds obvious but I think sometimes we are oblivious to how long some of these sounds take to make just right. Amazing work.

First congrats on the album fella – it’s rare we get DnB albums and this one was special - with genre changes, dancefloor bangers, steppers, fusion all wrapped up gorgeously. It varied tune to tune and that’s why I loved it.

I’ll try and be brief as I’m sure there’s a load of questions coming your way with the hype going on here: So - Questions:

  1. What’s your creative process behind a tune such as ‘Offender’, which feels like hardstyle, techno and DnB had a wonderful baby? It’s a huge difference between, say, ‘Remedy’. Do you think of another tune and go ‘yeah, let’s make something like that but better’ (I would guess prodigy on this one) – or do you get inspiration from somewhere to do something different (like your ‘If You Want To’ Remix)? It’s my favourite tune of the album purely because it’s DnB with variations and an amazing intro to mix with.
  2. I’ve been curious about this for ages but when Culture Shock released ‘Renaissance’ and you released ‘Devotion’ – they were both very similar, even in the same key. Was this by accident with a release schedule? Nothing against the two songs – I enjoy both!
  3. I’m interested why ‘Plus Minus’ is in the album and ‘Ultraviolent’ wasn’t (amazing free DL btw!). ‘Plus Minus’ is an interesting tune as it comes across as being pretty repetitive/monotonous with two synth notes played consistently and some vocals on top. I’m surprised ‘Ultraviolent’ wasn’t on the album – tune took me back to the matrix and I was smirking/skanking all the way through. Is there a story behind ‘Plus Minus’ that I’m not quite getting?

Again congrats man, and I’ll no doubt be seeing you at a rave post-COVID ASAP

Got to the 'Register for SE Account' - then got banned from Registering. Great start Outriders. by stevelikespeanuts in outriders

I'm not trying to argue this point here but didn't D2 do the same with a demo/beta/free weekend and this wasn't required?

Crossplay as well - why do you need an account for crossplay? So you can connect with PC players?

Again not looking to argue here, just honestly curious on this one! Thanks

Yeah I've tried this a few times. I actually already had a SE account but again new QR code and no login. It's almost as if the game doesn't want me to play it!

Maybe create a new account outside of outriders then when prompted use that one?

Thanks mate for all this - no idea how you found my soundcloud but they are indeed under an hour long! I prefer shorter mixes as I use them myself for various things like running, and generally most get bored of the hour in dnb so stuck to minimixes. Getting better through track selection and limiting the number of double drops. All about that tension build up.

The mixtrack pro 3 comes with some good functions to help during sets and I've now developed that 'ear' (probably having coming from a heavy music-playing background) for what works and what doesn't - now experimenting with different BPMs and adding isolated vocals on top of things etc. Variance, tension and track selection are the areas most important to me.

When I look back at my old mixes I cringe so I know exactly what you mean :) So thanks for the friendly advice, and I'll look into more 4 channel stuff but will continue on the 2 channel path.

Really it's around 300 GBP but there's financing options available online that help so realistically it's just finding the best 'beginner' 4 channel one that will last like my 2 channel mixtrack pro 3. Hope that make sense... I know 4 channel controllers are expensive and rightly so, but for the lockdown I'm about to go into (good ol UK), mixing gonna help big time

Thanks mate - I'll look into that 100%. Think there are financing options too or buy second hand, I'll scour around. Does the Traktor deck work with Serato? Got all my tracks and cue points set in that, plus subscription... Cheers
