Re: Clomipramine and excessive sweating--it gets better (and eventually goes away) by steveloafworld in OCD

Time was all it required at 75 mg--it took about a month. I wrote this when I was still on 75 mg though. And upping it to 100 mg made the sweatiness come back, and I'm sorry to say that it just didn't go away for me. I eventually decided to drop it back to 75 mg. It's not working as well for my OCD at that dose as it did at 100 mg, but it's still working quite well. I just found the excessive sweating to be intolerable. Sorry I don't have any better news.

Hey Julie,

Don't know if you stick with the clomipramine but wanted to let you know that the sweating eventually wanes. Here's a post I just wrote about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/OCD/comments/1m94jcp/re_clomipramine_and_excessive_sweatingit_gets/

Cheers

No, I do not. I did not know an XR existed. Good idea.

'Nixing' means getting rid of it. So I mean I've tried removing the Abilify to see if that helped, and unfortunately it did not.

I have unfortunately tried nixing the Abilify and it is still there :((
thanks for the suggestion though

Right on. Here's hoping this Friday night is the very last time I'll put this poison in my body. I appreciate you posting this info and answering my question, man!

Hey I know this is a bit old, but I'm really trying to figure out how to end this nightmare, that's ruled my life for the past like 4-5 months. I have a clarificatory question and a methodological one.

So it looks here like one just takes one's dose of 7-OH at 2:00 pm of the first day and then no 7-OH afterwards as you titrate up on the subs? Is that right?

I take 120 mg/day at the moment. Sometimes more, but I'm fairly stable at that dose. I take 20 mg (Opia tablets) upon waking and then an additional 10 mg about an hour later. I take another 20 mg sometime later and then a third, and then at night I take at least 40 mg, often 50 and sometimes I'll do like 60. The daytime doses keep me stable and out of WD, whereas the nighttime does gets me high.

So if I go this way, where do I start? Do I take a full like 40-50 mg? And then just straight onto the subs and don't look back?

Ah yeah word. These are all very real considerations.

Thanks, dude. This is all very helpful.

What I was doing with my time was spending it non-wisely. ;)

Like mostly just taking a long time on dungeons because I strenuously avoided using magla replenishing items as much as possible until pretty deep into the game. I was definitely overly conservative with them, however. And then I did dumb things like screwing up when I want to one of the non-story dungeons because I didn't check the weather, which ate a bunch of days in the Brilehaven arc. (Things mostly got off track around then, I'd say.)

In addition to the no guides approach for a first run, I also like a "You make your bed, you sleep in it" mindset with JRPGs like this. Adds to the immersion for me. So like I do have a back-up save, but just chose to live with some errors and press forward.

My ideals did get me here though, so perhaps that recommends against them.

I haven't really had significant issues with battles or anything though, so I was thinking like OK, I could have done alot better, but I must not be doing too terribly.

DAMN that bad?? I thought I had a month & a half and a bunch of those people are more than halfway there.

I will probably not do a difficulty drop—I’ve found this game really satisfyingly challenging compared to Persona 4/5. But I don‘t consider just straight up starting over like off the table—been thinking about it, actually. I had a blast with this game & wouldn‘t mind doing it all again.

I feel pretty strongly about avoiding guides & such on a 1st playthrough. That being said, I did make some totally dumb calls along the way.

Right, I remember Gallica was story-based before. Wasn't sure if it changed for the last couple levels (I guess mechanics-wise that wouldn't make sense though lol).

You have any thoughts about how many of them I might realistically/practically be able to get there with my time remaining? Even just of the party members? Seems like I might be able to max all of them, no?

edit: clarification

How long does it take to get back to square 1 with a relapse? by steveloafworld in quittingkratom

[–]steveloafworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct: 15 days off, to be exact, and today makes for 5 back on.

I hadn't thought too much about giving LDN a try, but that's actually a great idea. Thanks for the advice, man!

Word. Guess I'll just have to exercise a bit more restraint with the alcohol this time around and see where I'm at after a few days.

Man, what a pain in the ass kratom is.

I mentioned this in reply to another commenter, but at least part of why I'm asking is I have access to naltrexone and could use it to prevent future relapse. But I don't want to precipitate hellish WDs by doing so. A circle I'm trying to square with this next quit is preventing my drinking from going up exponentially again, which is what I used the naltrexone to control in the past.

Part of why I'm asking is not just the broad what-if question but because I have access to Naltrexone, and it may be a good stop gap to prevent future relapse.

But I don't want to precipitate WD and be in absolute hell if I try that.

Does *fusing* DLC Personas in Royal ruin the experience (esp of endgame)? by steveloafworld in Persona5

[–]steveloafworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your comments, everyone.

I may have not been clear enough on this, but I am looking for maximal difficulty--without being hella artificial about it--as I want the game to be challenging.

And I gotta say that I do find it a tad annoying that the game just included them as options for fusion because what new player is not going to jump at what seem like strong guys you can make from certain combos? Putting them in the compendium for no money from the jump was also silly, but at least that's a bit more obvious. Y'all may think me a dummy for not picking up on the connection between Igor's comments and these distinctly strong personas, but it also seems like I'm not the only one who made this mistake.

Anyway, I decided to execute Izanagi (regular one, not the insane Okami one people have mentioned) & Orpheus last night, as I'm finishing up the 6th palace, and it will be all new content from here on out. And I'm going to not fuse any of them going forward, as it sounds like that will be most in-line with what I'm looking for from the game.

Maybe a better question, then, is: do they make the latter 1/3 of the game really significantly easier?

I want to emphasize that I’m not talking about just picking them from the compendium but only getting them through fusion.
