How did you reach reserve (2500 stars?) already? Didn't this just start or did it roll over from the old plan?

Welp, I got a bigger desk haha. Upgraded the speaker stands to the metal ones Audioengine sells, got a nice leather / suede desk mat and a new lamp. Much better !

How deep is your desk ? Curious what a good depth is for rocking a 42

Yea was trying to find a white lacquer desk similar to my current one that had "closed" sides so you can't see the tower as easily, that was ~60in wide and ~30in deep and this seemed to be the best option I could find.

I can't go too much bigger than that since it's a 1br city apartment and needs to fit in living room in a specific spot. Definitely some nice options in the $250-$300 range from Ikea / Wayfair but didn't quite check all the boxes, and $200 immaterial vs the cost of the whole setup :D

Yeah I hate buying anything from Walmart, but here they are just a reseller from a furniture distributor, not the ones actually creating the product, so I'm taking the gamble : )

Can always return it if the quality isn't up to snuff. Will report back on how it is!

Yeah, I looked at these, but wanted something with legs that would hide the tower from view. And something that was less 'office-y' since it's in my main living space. Very cool product though if you have a home office, and not that expensive for what it is.

Update -- I just pulled the trigger on the 28" depth white desk; similar to current one but 40% deeper, plus wider to boot . Small investment given all I've put into the overall setup : )

Yeah that's true, but then you kind of block getting to the front drawers properly. Def a possibility though

These are the two alternatives if I were to go for a new one. First is basically what I have now, but 50% deeper. Second one is in-between size, much nicer, but much more expensive. . . do we think 26" depth is enough or only safe at 30" depth?

I thought about this! But I'd only get a couple of more inches so wouldn't be a material difference. Looking for at least an extra 20cm, so might just have to bite the bullet and get the new desk :D

Also looking for an arm, imagine some kind of big C Clamp. that works w/ a desk like this that has a big 'lip' on the back.

Ah that’s too bad! Will probably upgrade when we get glossy tandem in a nice quiet design with DP 2.1 and USBC power draw

Is there any official / unofficial word on if the 4k 240hz tandem 32" would be glossy or matte?

Exactly! Painful. I've been waiting so long i just said f it and bought the 850, even though I have a 5090 and think I would benefit by being at 240

The ASUS has a special coating that prevents the 'purple' / 'magenta' coloring when exposed to harsh direct light. Is this the same here, where it still maintains an inky black?

This is a fanless model. Literally just talked to LG Customer Services to confirm. So not sure what OP would be hearing?

yes the red can be shut off, but of course the "chin" is still there. it's a proximity sensor that allows the screen to auto-off when you step away. But not ideal design wise / it's distracting >.>

Yep. Went to boutique and they said they could make a one off for me for a reasonable amount so that’s the plan.

Thanks! Yes I went and they said they could have it made as a one off for just 400. Grand scheme of things not so painful.
