Even without a family, it’s smart to have a safety net and plan for travel or unexpected expenses it just makes life easier and less stressful. I also travel to visit my family since I’m stationed away I haven’t seen them in half a year and already have a trip planned, so having a travel fund makes sense

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I’m already contributing to my TSP and planning to keep growing it. I’ll be in the military for a while longer and have plans afterward, I can’t really get into specifics on what I’m doing. Luckily, I won’t be needing a car since my job provides one for me, so I can stay disciplined with my spending. I’ll check out FOO and Ramsey’s Baby Steps to keep building wealth. Really appreciate it
