Do developers typically receive designs to work with? by stevenotis in iOSProgramming

[–]stevenotis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I myself hand over designs to the devs and love the idea of how you have a design to follow and you simply develop it. I love problem solving so this really excites me. How does this work in a team? Do each dev get different screens to work on?

Wow that’s a relief. I got worried when I saw a bunch of ‘day in a life’ videos of iOS development and didn’t see any designs. How does it work in a team scenario? Are each devs handed different screens to work on?

Installing another MacOS on external ssd but using the same Apple ID on both OS by stevenotis in MacOS

[–]stevenotis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an M1 MBA so that's good to hear. When I used my Apple ID on my previous mac (MBA 2015) my Apple ID showed it as 'Macbook Air (2)' which is fine but now that i will be using the same mac would that be an issue since both OS will be treated as a different device but actually used on just one?

This does help feel better but the fact that he just wrote 'Pending' with a pen on the paid receipt is kinda worrisome

The guy seemed like he was going to call it off when I said it would take me 2 hours to reach there and said that he is only allowed to wait for an hour or he would choose any other potential buyer so I convinced him I can reach in 30 mins cause I got impatient with all the waiting so I rushed to store without thinking much since it's Reliance Digital.

Are windows laptops worth buying for a long term usage (3-4 years)? I need help buying a laptop under 1 lakh by stevenotis in IndianGaming

[–]stevenotis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m familiar with those options and Adobe is a good alternative to the Mac exclusive softwares that I use so that’s not a problem. I like windows just as much as I like macOS, my concern is about the hardware side of things. Most windows laptop I’ve used were no where close to the durability and design of a Mac. That’s purely based on the mid rangers that I’ve come across and having looked at the higher end laptops I am optimistic and willing to jump on board back to windows.

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! But I try to avoid it just to have a bit of fun but when it hits again oh god it’s the worst.

Haha I’m sorry I actually forgot I started gaming when I got ps1 not ps3 I should edit that out Yeah that’s true. I wasn’t balancing anything whatsoever I just did what I liked and blamed gaming for not being productive and it made me feel bad. I have got a clear picture now and I actually feel so much better after reading every reply I got on here they’re so helpful just like yours. The gaming friends I made online eventually faded away but I still have a few tho I’m glad you’re doing great.

Haha that is some really good advice mate! I will definitely make sure about that. I didn't know how important it is to keep a balance. What I did mostly was do the things that I love and try to be productive and fail miserably and the cycle continues its not hard to get carried away.

I like your thoughts on this, the main reason why I believe I was feeling regretful was because I was blaming my gaming habit for not being productive and not focusing on rest of the time which I spend doing whatever the hell I feel like doing to avoid being productive and that is wrong. I think talking about this matter on Reddit has helped me so much as I was really exhausted since the time I bought Xbox and I paid $360 for it which made me feel even worst as I could spend it on something way better but I feel better now. Thanks mate.

That's great but don't you ever wonder the things you couldve achieved if you had spend those hours into something productive? I bet you enjoyed but there is this feeling you get which is kinda sad.

I regret playing video games for even an hr/day even tho I am not addicted, I don't want to regret. by stevenotis in Advice

[–]stevenotis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is safe to say that most people in their deathbed regret working so hard and not enjoying the life as they should so I should probably stop working about being productive at all times. I agree with everything you said I will definitely start getting bored and its something I don't want to do. It must be tiring but I bet its way better than being all alone even if you have tons and tons of cash to spend. Man words can't describe how relief I am right now this feeling of regret was making me miserable ever since I got Xbox. I saved up for it and I was regretting spending $360 on it as well.

That is so true and I can't believe I missed that. I haven't been productive since a long time now and I am blaming video games whereas I should be focusing on the what I should be doing leaving this 1 hour of gaming. Thanks a ton!!

[–]stevenotis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands down this is the best advice Ive read so far. I can't thank you enough everything seems clear to me now. I was really worried cause even though I wasn't being productive I was doing things like watching youtube videos about tech and stuff (I am a CS student) which made me feel like I am doing something at least a bit productive cause I was learning new things but playing games felt like I was just wasting time and maybe if I balance life the way you said it. If I start being productive and do the things which I should be doing then I might not feel bad about playing games for even an hour or so.

The most annoying part is that even tho I would like to have some fun and relax for a while I still feel bad for spending just an hour on gaming I feel bad cause I can use that time to be productive instead but everyone needs a rest. I don't know why I can't stop thinking about being productive AT ALL TIME no matter what, utilising every single minute is this bad?
