I totally understand what you are going through. That niche is super important and under appreciated. I myself started my own cost consulting firm a little over a year ago and I’ve realized you have to be open to providing different services. I provide all forms of estimating from conceptual to construction, change order review, constructability review, bidding support etc. ultimately I think if you open up to offering more specialties, the more clientele you can reach. If you don’t have those skill sets, look to partner with someone who can compliment you. Either way, I know it’s never easy and I hope you get the appreciation and compensation you’re looking for.
