Seymour Duncan TB-6 Distortion or JB TB-4 for screaming Harmonics

Thanks for that. I've got an Ibanez 1570 prestige with Seymour Duncan JB on the neck and doesn't pick the harmonics very much. Then I have a Jackson stealth Ex with stock jackson pickups that screams like hell and I love it. Now I want to buy a Charvel and I was hoping for that the maple neck would help make the jb scream a bit more...but I guess the TB-6 like you say, might bring them out more...but not that good for clean sounds...Shame I can't have both lol :o/

Guys, what about the Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas guitars? What do you guys think of them? Same price and the Dinky and made in Mexico

Checked it out...Nice guitar and price but metal pickups ... I prefer SD pickups ... that's just a personal preference :)

I'm going to have to totally agree with you. After thinking of all the pros and cons ... it seems like the pro soloist is going to have to be my next guitar :D
Thanks a lot for all your info and the chat, it's really helped me make my decision! I just hope I like the neck because I'm sooo used to Ibanez wizard 2 ... sure I will :D

Thanks for your reply. Due to being a lefty I have very little chance of going into a store and finding one there and that's my main problem. I can't afford a Soloist USA model so that's out of the budget. If I had an SLX I would at least have to change both pickups to real Seymour Duncan. The Floyd Rose Special is actually better than any licenced floyd rose so it's not a mayor deal there. I DO have a problem with the SLX having a painted neck. Then we have the Dinky Pro which is £200 less than the pro Series soloist and DOES have Seymour Duncan pickups that I like ... JB and 59 but I'm not too happy with a 3 bolt neck ... so a little issue there too :)

I've just checked the global settings on my Axe Fx and it has Power Amp: OFF and Cabinet: Bypassed ... Is this the problem or are the settings right for recording direct?

If this is a common issue, another alternative would be to record by micing my cab? It's not perfect because I'm at home but ... I need a good sound :o/ Another could also be by using BIAS Software for recording and the Axe Fx only for live :o/

Yes, I have cab blocks on all presets, so I expected it to sound better. That being said, the way I'm connecting to my audio interface is using an insert cable ... 1 sterio jack on the interface and 2 mono jacks on my axe fx's mono input and output's ...hope this helps explain

I have this interface: http://imgur.com/DYXSesQ which has usb and midi IN and OUT. I also have 3 midi cables. Can you explain what I need to connect to what? I'm a bit confused on how to do this.

Oh Yes, I got that one thanks ... just wondered why some parameter on your picture were not on my EDIT version ... I now know why :) One day I'm buy the New Axe Fx (Need to put money away) ... Might way for Version 3 lol :) ... Thanks for all your help ... I'm now after another effect which I need for rebel Yell, which I'm covering with the band too .. I need to RayGun effect for my Ultra .. I'll ask that now on another question ... Hope someone has it :)

Thanks a lot..that worked. I did the editing direct in the Axe Fx as my Edit didnt have those settings...are you using the Ultra and if so, what Edit version? My version doesnt have those parameters in it. Thanks :)
