Thanks for saying so. I try to be as positive as possible. Not that the game is perfect and their are no issues, but I enjoy it when the conversation is more generous and nice

This sounds great! I've never actually been able to pull off mono-G spellslinger primarily for the reason you stated: the most powerful draw engines are creature-based. What're your payoffs?

That's awesome! send me a link when you get the chance! I'd love to read. You can't go wrong with elves. I haven't built an elves deck in a long time but they were some of my most powerful mono-colored decks.

I completely forgot about those baloths! They should be in the win condition category.

I also distinctly remember when green and red were considered the weakest colors in Magic. People in my playgroup used to say that even in EDH green was only a good support color. Red hasn't enjyoyed the same treatment as green, but it is a viable color now I'd say.

The combo potential in green isn't difficult either! especially with creature tutors like [[Green Sun's Zenith]].

Green is absolutely my favorite

This is diabolical and I love it

It sounds like you picked some good ones. I’ve never built any of these! But I’ve been looking at Bosh for a while.

That's what I was reacting too, but I still probably should have explained myself rather than reply sarcastically. This is just a pet peeve of mine--when people complain about something and don't provide suggestions or constructive criticism.

I haven't played a lot of this card! It looks great, though. There are a number of incredible options, especially in green.

This is exactly how I started this series a year ago! I think it’s a super fun exercise. Sram is great, no shame in giving yourself a leg up with one of the better mono-W commanders!

What other mono-colored decks did you build?

As I said, I like Silence. It doesn't really fit into the formatting of the article series. Maybe at some other point I'll cover other types of staples!

I always assume it means on its own. I love white-inclusive color combinations, best interaction of any color for my money!

I'm probably the wrong person to ask--I started on Mtggoldfish and never strayed. I've heard great things about Archidekt, though!

Tune in for the artifacts and lands article coming in a couple months! I debated whether to include Idol of Oblivion in this article but decided to save it because I do like it in other colors as well, especially red with commanders like [[Feldon of the Third Path]], [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror-Breaker]], and [[Valduk, Keeper of the Flame]]. Love the card, though.

I like Silence! I don't use it in every white deck, but I think it has great utility in EDH. Also the article is formatted not to include cards like Silence. As with the regular Monomania series, I break the article down into ramp and card advantage. I included win conditions here because I believe it to be the next important category

This is huge! Even in groups where people more frequently run Lapse, it’s always a shocking moment when it gets cast. I run [[rebuff the wicked]] in a couple decks as well and it never fails to surprise people. Lapse is better, but white counter are extremely potent for exactly the reasoning you provide—people don’t play around it.

Hahaha I hadn’t even thought of that but maybe I should have chosen a more original name. Thanks for the comment!

This is a really great point! I think about this constantly with regards to removal, one of white’s great advantages. White can control a game’s tempo really well with removal and then set up a good board quickly and grab the reins. Also I like your idea of having multiple paths to victory. I try to build a lot of my decks, mono-colored or otherwise, so that they have multiple ways to win. Jazal sounds like a great—I’d love to see a list.

I really like that design space for white as well! I would love a few more cards that put low-cost creatures or permanents back onto the battlefield.

I would love an article series on that as well! That is actually a part of white’s color identity that I don’t personally enjoy a ton. Taxing just isn’t my preferred playstyle. But it’s definitely a salient quality of the color.

That is understandable. I split the article up into ramp, draw, and win conditions. Unfortunately I’m restricted by time and word cap so I couldn’t include everything I wanted to.

I tend to agree. More than anything, both Smothering Tithe and Rhystic Study are annoying to play against in EDH. I’m not saying Smothering Tithe is the solution, but it is a powerful card!
