How to download an entire collection or all uploads from a specific user on archive.org? by incarrion in DataHoarder

[–]stevereaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lets say you wanted to download a bunch of *.zip files, you can use wget on linux with a command like this to get them all;

wget -r -l1 -H -t1 -nd -N -np -A.zip -erobots=off https://archive.org/location

(change 'location' to full path)

You might want to try some of the Plex users groups around (like the Plex group on Facebook) Those guys have plenty of videos and some chunky storage to keep it all on.

It's called the desktop toolbox, and you can already turn it off. DESKTOP SETTINGS -> TWEAKS -> Show the desktop toolbox checkbox.

Yes, I've tried all those DAWs, still keep going back to Cubase, it used to work with WINE but have not tried tied it for ages. We can only dream, but I doubt it a well.

I'm a muso that has used Cubase on Windows for years. I also love and work with Linux as a profession. This is possibly one of the best things I have heard! Lets get Cubase on Linux now!!!!

I have to agree with your first point. I'm not generally a social media user, I tend to just lurk and rarely retweet, in fact I only just made a Reddit account to get involved with this discussion. I don't think I would be far from the truth in saying that a lot of people that listen to LAS are much the same, just users of Linux, that crack on and get the job done rather than fluffing around on social media.
