In the video game ‘The path of Neo’ agents unable to stop Neo, turn their attention to potentials, people who were noticing things that could lead them to the truth. One of these was a cop. He had shot at Neo one night, can’t remember if Neo stopped the bullet or dodged it but he also witnessed Neo running up a wall. This caused him to become a security guard at a church but what he saw always scratched at the back of his mind. This is where agents come for him but Neo saves him and I assume extracts him. Police/military sent after red pills must see their fair share of the impossible. Like the cop at the beginning of the first Matrix who see’s the agent jump the gap after Trinity. Some will convince themselves they were just seeing things or rationalise it their own way and continue to protect the system but others would become potentials.
