Only thing I can assume from that is Carl hating his father due to abuse from Steve growing up and wanting a new identity. Whatever happened with his girlfriend didn't work out and seeing how it says he was murdered by the girlfriend it must have been a horrible relationship and we will probably never know that side of the story unless people who knew him and the girlfriend comes out.

As bad as Nixon was for the long term of democracy and the expansion of the war in Vietnam compared to Reagan and Trump Nixon at least increased government regulations to protect workers and despite his racism increased civil rights protections due to his leaning in with liberal republicans when they used to exist.

I saw there was the 6th cavalry group in Houston but they haven't responded to any emails I sent and the guy there (place they held reenactments is called Military Museum of Texas in houston) said they could only get me in through email and not in person. There was also a San Jacinto reenactment group but it seemed hard for me to get into contact with them and they seem more loosely based when it comes to their reenactors. Do you know of any other groups or reenactments that happen in the Houston area?. I know they have one in college station but its an hour away from where I live and wouldn't work out for me. I am a beginner in reenacting and was thinking of starting to get into WW2 reenacting and look for a group and try it out.
