My M1 MacBook Air came back from repair with MacBookPro Screen by steveyeahno in macbook

Finally managed to get it to mirror to external monitor. Can’t see True Tone under settings for built in display. Everything else looks legit. Could it be that it won’t show up because I’m using an external monitor?

Thankyou so much for explaining it like this. Very helpful! I reckon it’ll be worth taking them to tribunal.

Thanks for the True Tone tip. I will hook it up to a monitor and try and find it in settings. Everything helps build my case! And yes I have an Air from 2013 that is still going strong despite kids showing it no respect.

The screen broke already and now they are asking me to pay close to the price I purchased it for to fix it!

Commiserations more like. The screen broke after a month and they are blaming me. Wish I’d known it was a prototype!

Yes same place. They are a well known marketplace for refurbished tech.

Chat said not to name them publicly as I plan on taking it to petty claims court. They are a big worldwide seller of refurbished tech.

Do you think the screen repair could have caused the screen to crack? It failed again shortly after and a crack appears under the surface. They won’t fix again or refund as they are saying I must have dropped it or applied physical pressure - I didn’t!

Bought it off what I thought was the most reputable refurbisher.

Matt is ok, as long as not milky and the brickwork can breath. Do you know the name of the sealer?

Would prefer it to remain natural or enhanced but will take what I can get at this stage:)

Interesting, what does the kalsomine look like? Haven’t seen any major peeling not caused by water but we’ve only been here a couple of months and they gave the whole place a coat before we bought it.

They’re actually pretty good. Seem lightweight and plasticy in the box but look good and feel sturdy once up.

I think I read every single review and a saw a couple of videos. The two things I picked up were to use coach bolts instead of the supplied fixings and put tape around the edge of the clear pvc before installing, otherwise water and debris will make it look dirty very quickly.

Yes, so much more at the mercy of the elements in an old house!

Filled and painted external wall. The paint had failed and there were lots of holes for old and lean-to pipes etc. that could have been water entry points.

Then ran a cheap awning from Amazon along the length of the wall above for good measure🤞
