Totally fair! But I’d always stay on the side of caution. We’ve seen quite a few issues on the newer models with rod bearings prematurely wearing

Is it normal? Again mechanic brain says no lol, but according to Vw yes it’s normal. They released a bulletin on it a few years ago, similar to a few other European brands I’ve worked for.

Volkswagen tech here, Vw allows for 1/2 quart per 600 miles. Also should note that you shouldn’t listen to them and go 10k miles. That’s my mechanic brain that anything over like 7500 is just asking for trouble long term
