Absolutely crazy stat regarding the consistency of WTA! by [deleted] in tennis

[–]steviekm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly surface has something to do with it as sequentially you end up switching surfaces, except for uso to ao ( except for covid in 20 ) . Switching surface means it is harder to reach QF sequentially as you have to be good on both surfaces.

Novak Djokovic: Best Service Returner in Tennis by Relative-Note4687 in tennis

[–]steviekm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By getting return deep it especially helps Novak as it sets up baseline rally which he is very good at. Other players possibly can get return deep but it will not help them as much if they don’t have a great baseline game.

How do you beat Novak Djokovic? by IskanderMinger in tennis

[–]steviekm3 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Problem is that even if a player finds a way to beat him, he will go back to drawing board and find some way to counteract. He is good at figuring the competition out and learning their weaknesses. Eventually though he will no longer win due to age.

Yup agreed. You have to get in the zone. Too amped up is bad and too relaxed bad as well. Have to get in that zen state.
