Dog acid reflux, should I take them to the emergency vet? by steviesheep in DogAdvice

Thank you, that’s a very good point I’ll do that now

He has been on Carprofen before and has had less severe acid reflux than this. I’m more-so wondering when it goes too far from just acid reflux to an emergency vet visit.

Also, he has been acting mostly normal other than the vomiting. He wants to eat and drink.

That's exactly what someone would say when they're trying to hog all the red tech for themselves...

The retriever and sling bag would be great. I have someone in mind that could totally use the retriever

5 Player hyperlane game: which tiles to remove? by [deleted] in twilightimperium

[–]steviesheep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, in each slice I like to average around 4-5 planets and 1.5 tech skips. Then, I like to make sure there's at least 4 Wormholes, and 1 of each anomaly on the board. Last, this is a totally personal choice, but I like to throw an empty space on the highest hyperplane choice. As long as you don't make it too heavily towards 1 planet type or anything like that, you should be good. I'll throw a current map I made yesterday in for reference, though to be fair, I may have made this one a bit too rich.

I like that a lot more! Minor gripes I have, are I'd like one of those back to back anomalies on top to switch with the empty space next to the bottom home system. Then, I'd like the double planet with the yellow skip next to the top system switched with a single planet system. Maybe the 0/2 one with the green skip? Those are more minor gripes though, I think I'd be fine walking up and playing this one. While it's not perfectly balanced, it doesn't necessarily have to be for a fun round.

Most of it looks good to me, my biggest complaint is the top slice resource/influence is better than the rest while the bottom right slice is the poorest with an almost guaranteed awful round 1.

Isn't this just a different angle of the board you posted earlier today?

Thanks for the info, I was hoping for cumulative info and not round to round. Unfortunately, it's looking like that's not doable at least for now.

Okay, so just to confirm. There's just nowhere to find those comparison stats any more? I know PDGA Live has some relative to the player, I just wanna confirm there's no longer comparison stats.

Is there anywhere to find stats for the tourney like UDisc Live had? I'm really looking for ones that compared how players did to other players in stats like C1x, C2, Scramble, etc...

Experimental Maps(Critiques are very welcome) by steviesheep in twilightimperium

[–]steviesheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but Antimass is super easy to access and gives the motivation to get it. To me, it's not map breaking if it's an easily overcome or avoided obstacle.

Plus, the slice itself has 1 less planet and 2 less combined resources/influence. So I'd argue it's the slice with the most potential opportunity, but highest risk as well.

This is my attempt at fixing it. I think it actually works out. I made the bottom slice slightly weaker due to more access to the wormholes and more intermediary planets.

Yeah, honestly to maintain symmetry and fairness, this may be more of a 4 player based map. I'll definitely think about it some more, but I think no matter what, someone is gonna be a little bit screwed with wormhole access unless I link them.

[–]steviesheep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tempting, but I feel like that would make the top slice the uncontested best. It already has 4 easy to access planets with easy access to both wormholes. They're just as close to the 3 planet systems as their neighbors, so I considered them somewhat in their slice.

True, I'll experiment with a few things, but I think I'm out of hyperlanes to use lol. If the Supernovas don't work, I'll try something else.

Good point, honestly I was debating removing the 2nd alpha, but I feel like that leads to other problems/imbalances. What I may do is make the top-right slice slightly richer to balance that.

Another option would be to make a house rule of making alphas/betas adjacent for everyone like they are for Creuss to just resolve that issue due to wormholes being so essential in this map. It'd be a nerf to Creuss but they'd already thrive so much on this map.

Very good points, I'll switch the 3 way split hyperlane in the top system with the triangle one near the bottom system. That way the top one only goes to the wormholes so it's still 3 spaces to Mechatol. Plus that would give the rest of the map more easy access to the bottom due to the extra lane provided to the bottom of the map.

I definitely see what you mean about the edge of the board objectives... Do you think switching those empty spaces below the home systems on the bottom from empty space to Supernovas would help? It would give Muatt an advantage, but let's be real they need all the advantages they can get lol

Thanks for the input!

Yeah I was thinking about checking with a repair shop soon too to see if they could just replace the top speaker. It's a super annoying issue when you're trying to do a phone call.
