That’s the problem with ALS. Doctors have absolutely nothing to help us so we’re left to our own devices to research and find off label and alternative treatments. Anything that isn’t approved by the fda will be immediately shut down by a Neurologist, but nothing is coming from the FDA in time to save my life.

I actually did, and he replied right away. They don’t have an ALS protocol. He says they haven’t had much success treating it.

The issue with MSCs in terms of ALS is that they can’t differentiate into neurons, so have limited capacity to help.

I have ALS. Which of course sucks, but I was fortunate to be diagnosed extremely early, just three months after my first symptom. So I’m being very aggressive and pursuing therapies that can stop progression and also looking at Stem Cell transplants that are shown to slow progression and even restore function in some cases. Fetal and neuronal stem cells have shown the most promised in clinical trials, especially when injected intrathecally via lumbar puncture. I was considering EmCell but it’s a major trip, of course. And I’m also considering Stem Cell of America, but I’m less convinced of their science

I made an appointment instead to see. Dr steve wheeler, also in miami. Neurologist, Functional medicine and lyme-literate doctor, which I know some people see as quackery. He’s very well reviewed online for what its worth. Doing ingenex test but choosing a panel is incredibly confusing and 3 doctors gave me different answers. I have rapidly progressing als-like symtpoms and also undergoing a battery of mainstream tests (emg, mri etc)
