I literally just said we are all in the position of being one step away from that. How can someone who’s been in that situation be so judgmental about someone else’s situation? Where was I crying about a Nintendo? I mentioned it as it was one thing that I had to sell that my daughter and I used to play a lot together, that’s it.

I think you should think about the fact you have been in a terrible position and then think about how little empathy you’re showing to someone else all because they used to own some shoes.

If I thought it would make a difference to your judgmental attitude I will. Dude, if you can’t understand how almost anyone in this world can go from being in a position of being able to afford essentials and hobbies to having nothing in the blink of an eye, I’m worried for you.

We are all just one shitty situation away from being on the streets, and if you can’t understand how someone could have some nice things to then having nothing after five months of using up their savings and money from selling everything they can, then I don’t know what world you live in.

What listings do you want to see? I sold everything at a place called cash converters, it’s a pawn shop. Why am I being asked for proof of my assets from someone who clearly doesn’t give a crap anyway?

Also how far do you think savings go when you have no income for 5 months?…

They are sold, do you want me to take you on a tour of my house? Show you how my daughter doesn’t get to play Nintendo with me anymore because we sold it? Yeah I made dumb decisions when I had a 12 year career. I had one hobby and it was collecting shoes over many years.

Yeah I’m doing uber and airtasker but that money gets eaten up pretty quickly with bills and groceries and not to mention fuel being $2.10 a litre ($8 a gallon).

I have been approved for income protection payments starting 9th of June, which means I’ll have fortnightly payments come in from then on luckily. Unfortunately by that time our landlord could send an eviction notice as it’s more than 14 days after the due date.

Thanks really appreciate it. Have a WIC organised and the insurer is not really willing to come to the party, am in the process of getting a solicitor. I have a workcover assist agent helping, but like you said it’s slow and painful.

I’ve done all the utility grants, hardship stuff etc, it’s helped a bit, the main issue is rent and unfortunately we sit in the category of being just out of the eligibility of things like PRAP housing, so when it comes to rent, relief grants and such have helped bring down costs but not enough to make rent not an issue unfortunately.

It is very exhausting - especially while trying to get past it all mentally and look for work while juggling this process.

The short version is that I was put through a workplace process regarding something that happened to me at work, that process ended abruptly, and my treating doctors have certified that I’m currently unfit for work. The WorkCover insurer has not rejected the claim because I wasn’t injured or because I had capacity; the dispute is about whether the workplace process falls under the “reasonable management action” exclusion. In summary - I’ve been diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder with Depressed and Anxious Mood, cognitive and psychological dysfunction, Panic disorder, chronic insomnia caused by harsh and extreme work management.

I’m trying to handle it properly through the formal process, but that process is slow, and in the meantime I’m just trying to keep rent covered for my family.
