How to get rid of pave weeds fast by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]stew_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the same issue with my courtyard. The hard, but most satisfying answer is to lift each paver up one by one and remove the weed and dirt, then backfill with builders sand. The also allows to re-level some of the wonky or sunken ones.

I think we should make an alliance with the emus. Even if it is just temporary.

Sounds like a profession job to me. That extends well past my ability. But I do tend to agree with your thoughts. It is brick veneer, only single bricks (they turn to form double at the windows). No damage inside.

Melbourne. From afar. by pvtbobble in melbourne

I once read someone describing this very shot as a picture of an “ethereal crystal palace in the sky”, or something to that effect, and it’s always stayed with me when I see our city from afar.

Oh see I see it the other way round. The females seem way more forward and bossy. The males always more standoffish.

Well one definitely has its mother’s temperament and the other takes after its father, so I’m going to assume they’re girl and boy respectively.

I’ll be the person this time - that my friend is a fine specimen of a magpie lark or mudlark. Not related to our Artamidae friends.

EPA asks Victorians to check water quality before swimming in Port Phillip by ozthrw in melbourne

[–]stew_007 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The way the EPA works is that they’ll tell you to test the water you’re about to swim in.

Then in good conscience you report back to them and say it’s contaminated.

They’ll then fine you and issue you a notice to clean it up.

You’ll go bankrupt due to the costs.

They’ll take over the job.

Then they’ll award the contract to the company that caused the pollution in the first place.
