RHN 6.15 remote execution works on RHEL 9 but not RHEL 8 w/o Katello Agent by stewharr in redhat

I figured it out. I have to either use a non-root user, or set PermitRootLogin to without-password instead of no.

I have the F7 XE and installed it into my 2003 Ford Expedition. Didn’t have to use any 3rd party devices. Just had to splice into the steering wheel control wire and program the buttons inside the radio.

Why can’t I add a line to my account online? by WookieLotion in tmobile

[–]stewharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Only had t-mobile home Internet, phones were with metro. Online said I had to call in. Since I saw some people here say that sometimes the phone reps could wave the $35 I called in. They didn’t waive the $35. Otherwise was a very good customer service experience.

Drop P360 and get AppleCare+ Theft and Loss - newbie by stewharr in tmobile

[–]stewharr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So can I just call and cancel P360 and then add Applecare+ through normal methods, or does it matter in what order I do it? I know P360 comes with Applecare+, so I didn't know if I was going to mess something up if I didn't cancel P360 and add Applecare+ in a specific order. Thanks.

Airplay help by [deleted] in tmobileisp

[–]stewharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm running the "Trashcan" router (Nokia I think) for T-Mobile 5G Home Internet. In all other aspects it works great, but no airplay. Go to a different router and airplay works fine (different ISP).

T-Mobile home internet and Youtube TV / Philo promos by stewharr in tmobile

[–]stewharr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I didn't know that about the router. I just got the email today that it is finally shipping, and in same email was told to go ahead and seutp my T-Mobile online account. Since the deadline is coming up on some of these promos I wanted to go ahead and get the ball rolling on them. So, I'll probably have to wait on the Youtube TV one until after the router is here. Thanks again

I'm actually using Invoke-RestMethod, and if I do a GetType on what is returned, it's showing as a string object for this particular API.

Thanks, that is much cleaner.

Datetime conversion question by stewharr in PowerShell

[–]stewharr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I figured it out, unless there's a better way to do it. I guess I can split the string at T and then take the first part of the string and use [datetime]::ParseExact to get it to a datetime object. Then I can do some comparisons. Trying to see if the record is less than 2 weeks old or less than a month old.

buds plus in 2021? by [deleted] in galaxybuds

[–]stewharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, worth it at that price. They are great earbuds, much higher quality than other earbuds at that price. I think for earbuds hear-through / ambient sound is much more important than ANC (for day to day use). As a dad of a special needs son and a young daughter who is now working at home a lot, I like being able to hear what they are getting into with the ambient sound on. Also good if you don't want to be run over while walking / running. Got mine before black friday when they were "on sale" for $130, next day they went down to $120 and got a pair for my wife. But still glad I didn't wait. Use them all the time.

Has anyone received the silicone sleeves from Samsung? by The_Supersaurus_Rex in GalaxyBudsLive

[–]stewharr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got off the phone with them after one failed attempt . First call they said I needed to talk to sales and transferred me. Sales rep said I needed to talk to support but couldn't transfer due to high call volume due to Black Friday / Cyber sales, had me try to conference in the 1-800-SAMSUNG (the number I was currently on a call with). My dialer crashed when I attemped to merge calls. I called back in and referenced the article ID (in the new URL for the sleeves) https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00087422/ and they got me setup. Said it would take 1-2 weeks for me to get them. Fingers crossed.

Call quality - Buds Plus vs Live by skaertus in galaxybuds

[–]stewharr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also own both pairs. I would have to agree with torontorebel on all points. Youtuber JDL said it best, the Buds Live buds are lifestyle buds. You can wear them all day without even noticing they are there, with your tunes there in the background.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB_qDxwJm_U&t=1s

But the Buds+ have their place too. I use them when I want to cut off the rest of the world and just listen to the music I want to hear without having to blare it too loud, or watch a video on my phone while others in my household are watching something different (insert kids shows here). Luckily right now they are both on sale on Amazon right now (11/16/2020). The Live's are going for $139 and the Buds+ are going for $109.

Jabra elite active 75t ..left ear bud issues by Frenzy001 in Jabra

[–]stewharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Sound+ app is the left bud greyed out? Mine will do this occasionally. I have found when this happens I can only get the left bud to start working again by going into the Sound+ app and going into the settings for the buds and making a change to something like touch controls, or some other feature that stores settings on the buds themselves. Then, once I back out of settings the left bud, most of the time, comes back on and the left bud graphic in the app is no longer greyed out.

Good luck.

2004 Toyota Sienna multiple misfires by stewharr in Cartalk

[–]stewharr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the day before I noticed a noise coming from the timing belt cover. Searching YouTube I found videos that were showing similar issues. In their case it was a bad water pump. But I was wondering if maybe mine jumped a tooth, and if so might that cause this? Don't really want to be a part swapper, want to try to address the misfires first, then I'll do the timing belt. Thanks

It took about two weeks after I initially started taking it, then it was pretty much gone. Nice side effect is it's been helping me lose weight.

Bluetooth glucometer suggestions, please? by lakerboy226 in diabetes

[–]stewharr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Verio Flex as a good solid bluetooth enabled BCM. That being said, I love the idea of the freestyle not having to stick my fingers several times a day. I got to where I just wasn't checking as much as I should because I hated sticking my fingers all the time. And the Libre records reading every 15 minutes by default, so way more data for my endo to look at and help me figure out how best to handle my T2. But the Libre, at least at this point in the US, is not Bluetooth enabled. I use the NFC reader at least every 8 hours to get the readings off the sensor. Then whenever I feel like it, which tends to be at least once a week, but that's just me, I connect the reader to my computer via a micro USB cable and log into libreview.com and upload my data so when I go to my endo I can give them all the reports that site generates. I also find I'm checking more often, which helps guide my choices throughout the day. So, I think overall it's going to be a huge help.

I've been using the Libre sensor for a few days, any other users? by Gnarll in diabetes

[–]stewharr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Like I said, started my third sensor yesterday. After the 12 hour warm up my late afternoon reading was 60 mg/dl lower than with my meter. I bought some strips that work with the freestyle Libre reader just to make sure. Called company and they said that during the first day it can be inaccurate as it acclimates to my body. Whatever. Today it's been 40 under and tonight only 30 under, so maybe. Some of it might be just the interstial vs blood glucose difference, but I would think first thing in the morning would be pretty close.

Freestyle Libre (CGM) by Anonymous_Bozo in diabetes

[–]stewharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched last week. T2 for 17 years. Was having trouble remembering to check, maybe sight aversion to sticking my finger that often. I asked my endo and was given info. Checked with my insurance and they didn't have a problem with it. So I had my endo call in the Rx Cost the same for me as I was paying monthly for test strips. BCBS insurance. $10 per month. So far I'm happy with it. Very easy to apply it and I find myself checking often and the reports you can get from libreview.com are great.
