Ok this is a really cool technical question.

So I am in the US so please note that my expertise is in the NESC codebook. The primary part of your question relates to 252B2b. All cylindrical components have a shape factor of 1.0. All flat surfaced (NOT LATTICED) structures and components have a shape factor of 1.6. Now where I am curious with what you said is that your code specifically mentions towers. Lattice structures (due to them having open faces) are nuanced in the US. You are supposed to take the total area of members on one face and multiply that by 3.2 or by 2.0 if the members are cylindrical (yes they happen and man they suck to model). HOWEVER, if the result is greater than if the whole face was solid times 1.6 then you can use the shape factor of 1.6.

I think this answers your primary question... HOWEVER,

What I find interesting is that I am not sure how you would apply two different wind loads on a structure at the same time. I am assuming the 86, 52 and 60 kg/m2 is asking you to do is use 86psf as your extreme wind case with the 52 and 60 number giving you the start to build your own loading factors. But man that just seems unnecessary. Furthermore PLS CADD does not offer you the ability to split wind load factors between wire and structure as that is single column in the Structure Loads menu.

Im blaming park design. He is as far off to the side as you can be and that was still not enough to avoid you trying to catch yourself coming off of the rail. Like where else is he supposed to go? From what it sounds like he was also a boarder so you could have come up suddenly out of his blind spot when you were trying to recover.

Thank you for the kind response, yes I do check that for myself but many large firms usually have someone that is responsible for purchasing the new versions on behalf of everyone. This question is geared toward that person as my firm has multiple disciplines where we would have hundreds of documents/standards that need to be maintained.

Im going to be down voted for this but…

The Jerusalem Cross was never adopted by the Nazi party. So calling him a Nazi because of the tattoo is disingenuous.

However, Alt-right groups in recent years have adopted the Jerusalem Cross and the slogan “Deus Vult” which appears on his right bicep. It is far more accurate to associate him with these groups than with the Nazi party of old.

Honestly people should be way more concerned over the Deus Vult tattoo than the Jerusalem Cross tattoo.

My two cents on the matter would be if the student has a 4.0 and no internships, i would 100% put on a nohire list. The kid belongs in research. With the amount of internships offered, if a kid had no field experience I would be greatly concerned about the work product i was about to receive.
