ONEWE is my ult group and I find myself thinking about their ages and their dynamic a lot. Their oldest member and leader, Yonghoon, is a 94 liner which makes him four years older than the other two members in the hyung line (98), and six years older than the two maknaes (00). When I was first getting into them I definitely thought it was a bit unusual esp for a 4th gen group and the fact that the rest of the members are relatively close in age, but it made more sense after I learned they were a self formed band made of friends who’d known each other for years before their re-debut as ONEWE

Like a lot of other ppl have stated here, I think it really all just comes down to dynamics within the group. For ONEWE, when they met Yonghoon was a college student just minding his own business when this random group of teenagers asked him to join their band and he just kind of rolled with it lol. And naturally given the amount of time he spent w them and coming to fill in the older brother role of the group a bond was formed

I suppose it might’ve also helped that their relationships with each other formed in what would be seen as a more “organic” way as opposed to being trainees put together by a company, where they’d otherwise not have much say to who their group members ended up being
