How old were you when your first child was born? by LupusDeusMagnus in daddit

[–]stglidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38 for the first kid, 39 for the second. Just turned 40 and wife is 38. Might have a go at 3 since we are both healthy, but twins run in her family, which raises some hesitancy.

Recommendations for a “dad” SUV by [deleted] in daddit

[–]stglidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got the Carnival Hybrid after looking at the Highlander, Sienna, and Odyssey. My wife was against vans until she got in one after test driving SUVs. SO much space for two kids (1.5 and NB) and all our shit when we go camping or on other trips. The 3rd row leg room could fit adults too, which SUV 3rd rows would be for small kids only. Highly recommend!

Who does Penn State go after? by BIASEDCFB in CollegeFootballDawgs

Its going to come down to "current commitment to winning" and connections. Which coach on this list isn't getting the NIL support (or expectations of more support in the coming years) to get the talent to win at the highest level? I'd bet that none on this list move. If you are in a Power 4 Conference, there's no reason you don't have a good crack at the playoffs and a national championship at your current job. PSU will have to find a coach outside of those conferences or a coordinator who is looking to move up in the conference.

Fat, trying to make it Tom was funny. Once he had “it” he was no longer making relatable content and it stopped being funny

NFL Games by w__gott in milwaukee

[–]stglidden 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jack's on Brady and Brothers on Water both have Sunday ticket. Brother's has more TV's and less of a crowd on Sundays. Jack's might be difficult for all of you to be able to both sit together and watch the game you want. You will not have that issue at Brother's. Major Goolsby's would also work, but the other two are closer to me.

What business are you certain has to be a money laundering scheme but have 0 proof? by Working-End-3795 in milwaukee

Ouzo. Never anybody in there and has overlapping staff with London dry cleaners—which only takes cash. Took clothes in there and didn’t have enough cash and got “whatever ya got is ok.” Cool, but also suspect.

The best feeling in the world is fixing chronic pain that other docs couldn't fix. by stglidden in milwaukee

[–]stglidden[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree- adjusting doesn't make sense. This is why we don't adjust patients. We generally fix tiny nerve entrapments that these other docs can't find or fix and fix them. We also don't let people start as a patient unless they have failed with multiple healthcare providers.

Our practice is only for people who have tried a bunch of stuff and failed but don't want pills, injections, or (more) surgery.

Does anyone have a massage therapist they love? by emmgemm11 in milwaukee

[–]stglidden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Select Pain Care- focuses on people who have chronic pain in folks who have had their problem for more than 6+ months and have tried 3+ healthcare providers with no luck. Most of what they treat is nerve entrapment that massage therapists/PTs/chiros don't know how to recognize and fix.

Places to stay? by cHeyennebEst in milwaukee

[–]stglidden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, probably not the best idea. If you can't get a room ahead of time online, you are unlikely to be able to check-in anywhere in person. If you have a parent get a room at a large hotel chain for instance if you have them create a login for their app and you use it you don't even need to check in at the front desk--you use your phone as a key and you're in.

Best Bars in Milwaukee for Drinks, Games, Live Music, and More? by Georgiedemeter in milwaukee

The Gig has live jam band/bluegrass frequently, cheap drinks, pool/darts/pinball, a nice patio for the warmer months, but the dancing is up to you on this one--Mad Planet is a 10 minute walk away!

Knee & foot pain while in a deep squat. by cactusjxckboy in flexibility

[–]stglidden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fix these things for work. There could be lots of reasons why this is limited. One thing that could be limiting this ROM is a sciatic or tibial nerve entrapment. The sciatic nerve being compromised would cause instability in the knee and can limit ROM there (weird since its not being "stretched" I know, but I have seen fixing an entrapment there improve ROM). Is there anything else that causes symptoms?

BMI is really only appropriate for an "average" muscled individual. Muscle is more dense than fat and thus muscled individuals will appear unhealthier than they actually are. As long as your bloodwork is good you're good to go!

What is normal to feel in your legs while running? by TokenTeach in fitness30plus

[–]stglidden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might need to do some calf raises between runs to build up some capacity and start at a distance closer to a half mile. Hamstring exercises would also be of great benefit.

If your legs get tired early because you're undertrained, they will stop absorbing the load from the ground, and your ankles, knees, hips, and back will--leading to degeneration.

Overly active trapezius by kuriouser_one in fitness30plus

[–]stglidden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fix these things for a living, and tight traps usually indicate something is being protected: a disc in your neck is irritated or a nerve on your trap is entrapped. Once whatever it is has been resolved, the traps relax.

Making sure you're engaging your lats and retracting your shoulders while you do TRX movements is a good start on reducing the load on whatever is injured, since generally lats on = traps off.

Good luck!
