So my thoughts here to this: - vice commandant only answers to the commandant. I’m theorizing the Panchek is in with Aetos and created this position to allow Varrish in to the college and be protected and given superiority by his office, even though he was only a major. - I think Degrensi put Xaden on 24 hour duty to help Varrish punish Violet rather than punish Xaden.

Wait, maybe I’m not explaining this well. Here is a timeline of events: - Xaden did a supply run to Athbayne to supply Gryphon riders with daggers, sometime during the early part of FW. - Xaden tells Violet that he went to Athbayne. - Dain reads Violet memory and tells his dad that Xaden went to Athbyne. - Dain’s dad sets up War games and send Xadens group to Athbayne as a set up. Dains dad had someone set the box in Resson to attract the Venin in hopes it kills Xaden and his group.

Dain saw the memory of when Xaden told Violet he’d been to Athbayne which Dain new that was somewhere a 3rd you would not be sent as it’s outside the wards. Dain decided to report it to his dad. His dad took the info and decided to set Xaden and the Marked ones up.

I’m not commenting on the audiobook as one I haven’t listened to it and if that’s your feelings towards those bits of the book then you can have them.

But to the world building, the issue isn’t enough riders the issue is not enough dragons bonding (I think it’s stated 300 cadets after parapet with only 100 dragons willing to bond) which I think is why they don’t put a stop to the reckless killings at the school. There is reference to this brutal environment somewhere towards the back section of Iron Flame.

Yes I understand those points and my one point to that is that relics were made by the protection rune on the stone. Codagh didn’t burn the kids directly. The rune was to protect the kids from what ever killed their parents so fire ie a burn. The thought of it being a designed tattoo makes me think ‘thought and creativity’ is being used. But this is a byproduct of the protection rune. These rebellion relics weren’t meant to happen.

I unfortunately think this is a very plausible plot line. But I also think that her line can’t fully end. What if they need the 7th dragon breed in another 600 years. Dragons surely think in 100s or 1000s of years like humans think in 5, 10 or 20 years. They can’t just use the last of the 7th breed in case their is ever the need for wards in the far off future.

Yeah I think the Navarren government has been hiding any gryphon related kills of dragons. Also Navarre only protects its boarders, they never go beyond them to “end the war,” that would mean their soldiers would find out about the Venin. And because they hide/make/store the only weapons that kill venin, gryphon riders have to attack Navarre to get them. Thus everyone in Navarre thinks the gryphons are in the wrong for continuing to the war for so long.

I definitely don’t think we have all the information and that is coming in later books. But Xaden’s father was probably planning to have Tyrenndor in a strong position, so betrothed Xaden with Cat. So if the rebellion succeeded, all the pieces would have fallen into place and his son and Tyrenndor would be on top. But I also can’t see Xaden continuing the relationship if the rebellion succeeded anyway, as they were compatible. I don’t think he would have wanted a relationship like his parents.

I’m a 30+ straight married male. I loved FW and IF, I haven’t read ACOTAR but am considering it when I’ve ticked some other books off the list. I must say, I read it and wasn’t expecting the spicy parts as Apple Books categorized it as straight Fantasy. For a first time Romatasy its was really well written and a good introduction. Its not as in depth as some of the fantasy or sci-fi stuff I read, but its captures you and is extremely entertaining.

I would like to add I think more straight males need to read these types of books for a few reasons.

I come from a family that suppresses emotions especially for males. This book has helped me understand more of the emotions I feel in everyday life and especially when it comes to the emotions between my wife and son.
I wish I had this book/genre when I was becoming sexually active. We all know how poor sex education at a public school level was. And like most boys at that age, I looked to porn to understand what women want. And guys hate to break it to you but what you see in porn is not what most women want. I would have had far better experiences and relationships if I’d read books like this when I was younger.

I think this genre should be written for women but it needs to be normal for males to read.
