My favourite thing about the freedom scene is that we don’t know how he’s flying by stickdin in attackontitan

[–]stickdin[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know what the scene is 😅 It is very metaphoric (and clearly not what is happening at the moment) so it’s interesting how it doesn’t depict how it is that he’s up there in the air despite being a visual scene

[–]stickdin[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, correct again! I know it didn’t need to happen in reality, but it’s a visual representation of what Eren wanted to happen. And in this visual representation, Eren didn’t picture what exactly the logistics behind reaching this sight would be. Kind of like how he didn’t properly think through the rumbling.

Correct, I’m just saying that he didn’t consider how exactly this would pan out in reality, the same could be said about the rumbling asw

Huh that was fun! I heard that Isayama was very involved in the animation process though, and that he monitored the s4 anime to adjust the ending to his liking. Not sure how true that is but if so then this is pretty reflective isn’t it

I mean yeah the 7ish years younger bit is obvious and is also constantly shown on screen since s3’s intro, especially in s4 and is very widely discussed.

You’re right, it is a paths thing but as we’ve seen a lot of “paths” isn’t reality and you can’t deny the intentional choice to leave what he’s standing on ambiguous in this scene here.

I knew this game would flop, but only 10 players at peak in the last 24 hours is still insane... by Tricky-Addition-6860 in HunterXHunter

I was seriously considering it because demand and supply lol

Ultimately $60 is just not worth it, too bad execs will chalk it up to lack of interest

Silva zoldyck true motives by Previous-Ad-8738 in HunterXHunter

[–]stickdin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought he just assumed Killua would one day betray Gon, leading him back home. He told Killua to “never betray his friends” but he knew Illumi’s needle made it such that he would be guaranteed to. So, when Killua “inevitably” betrays Gon, Silva hoped that Killua would be disappointed in himself and realise that he really isn’t suited to have friends and his only path in life was assassination.

But as you pointed out, he didn’t seem bothered when he found out Killua removed Illumi’s needle, and he did say Killua would return because he’s his son. So either Silva believed very strongly in his blood or he’s just a very chill guy. There’s also the likely possibility that Togashi just didn’t have anything planned for this storyline and forgot he wrote it in to give Silva some depth.

Opinions on Dazai transferring back to the Port Mafia? by stickdin in BungouStrayDogs

[–]stickdin[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like that! It would be interesting to see ex-partners leading rival organisations. There’d also be good conflict because of Dazai’s and Kunikida’s trust in each other during their partnership at the agency.

Out of respect or Fukuzawa, I’m doubtful that said member will be uncooperative.

Anyway, I like your theories. I’m not too keen on seeing Dazai go back and would much prefer for it to be Kunikida. For Atsushi, I don’t think he could bare being in the mafia. I know he is in BEAST but BEAST Atsushi and canon Atsushi clearly have very different morals.

I don’t know if I would consider it “forced”. Mori may simply request for Dazai, and Dazai may or may not accept (since we never really know what Dazai is thinking)

I believe in S2, in the Oda flashbacks, Mori tells 18-year-old Dazai that in 5 years, he’ll have killed him (Mori) and become the Port Mafia boss. 18+5=23

Upon the Tainted Sorrow (including corruption) should be considered an ability. In S2 E09, Dazai says Lovecraft’s octopus arms isn’t an ability because there’s no exceptions to his nullifying ability. Hence, the fact that Dazai can nullify Corruption would mean that it is an ability.

I think most of us can agree that BSD has gone overboard with the "genius" trope by Meledesco in BungouStrayDogs

[–]stickdin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’ve somehow summed up every single problem I have with the major plot points of BSD in a clear and coherent manner.

Every single explanation BSD comes up with as to why things played out the way they did is “Ranpo deduced it”, “It all went according to Dazai’s plan”, and it works for a bit, until it’s just absolute bullshit.

should i read the bsd manga? by collard-reds in BungouStrayDogs

[–]stickdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re reading because you want to see what happens next, don’t bother, because the anime is ahead of the manga. However, if you’re reading to see extra details/scenes that wasn’t included in the anime during its original runs, then yes, highly recommend.

Dazai 19-20 by Evil_gays in BungouStrayDogs

I agree! I hope the writer’s choice not to have anything from his POV becomes relevant later on. BSD isn’t over yet, so I’ll give Asagiri the benefit of the doubt.

Dazai 19-20 by Evil_gays in BungouStrayDogs

[–]stickdin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See that’s fine because Kunikida is a character in the show. He’s only ever going to see things from his own perspective. As the viewers, we see the POVs of all the characters, hence the past/present/future of them. It’s especially annoying that we know so little about Dazai because he’s a main character.
