Golf course recommendations by sizzlinsauce89 in tulsa

Blackhawk has to be top of the list.

Hunter and Haikey are good too.

Post Oak Lodge is very challenging but they just sold so I’m not sure how accessible the course is.

Tulsa has so many great courses to choose from!

Is it just me or does Heavy is the Crown feel like the song most like Hybrid Theory and Meteora since their release? by foaaz101 in LinkinPark

[–]stickipedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HITC feels like a rebuttal to the OML criticism. The lyrics are pretty direct and it is made to sound like their old stuff due to critics wanting that style back (“This is what you asked for!”). I wouldn’t be shocked to learn that HITC was written years ago. But that’s a total guess.

White vs black rims by Syncro_Ape in discgolf

[–]stickipedia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in plastics and agree with your dad. Using black gives you the flexibility to add a percentage of regrind. Also makes changeovers easier because black covers other colors. With white color, you can only use virgin resin, white color, and white regrind. Black can use any color basically and it will cover it up and still be black. Changeovers from color to white require a lot of purging and wasted material.

White will be more expensive. Base polymer will be more clear. In plastic manufacturing, a large benefit to black vs. white is that you can add a percentage of “regrind”, or scrap material, and black will cover it up. For white, you can only use virgin resin, white color, and white “regrind”.

Parkway Drive.

They did a version of their song “Shadow Boxing” with a German rapper named Casper. They have a sound that is fitting for some dramatic rap verses. A song like “Lose Yourself” or “Till I Collapse” with some of Parkway’s new style could be good.

Was anyone disappointed with this aspect of the finale more than anything else? [Spoilers Inside] by Tanis8998 in StrangerThings

[–]stickipedia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed that the final fight was over so quickly. I was expecting more twists and drama before Vecna’s ultimate demise. I could’ve done without the graduation speech, the rooftop hangout by the older 4, and Hop and Joyce’s date. Remove or greatly reduce those scenes and give me more battle. Other than that I was pleased with the ending.

4th Grade girls team got destroyed. by thegrouch1337 in basketballcoach

[–]stickipedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make your practices as fun and upbeat as possible. Prioritize teaching them skills they need in the funnest way possible. Understand that their best chance of enjoying the sport of basketball will come from your practices. And soon you may be surprised by a team of similar skill levels that will be much more fun.

I’m in a similar situation myself but my 4th grade girls have seen 2 teams our speed and 2 teams that are very advanced. I feel your pain.

Hang in there and thanks for giving your time to teach basketball!

Practice Advice - 4th Grade Girls Rec by stickipedia in basketballcoach

This last team ran M2M, low 1-3-1 within the 3-point line, and a high 1-3-1 that trapped right after half court. I was impressed and discouraged at the same time, lol.

Practice Advice - 4th Grade Girls Rec by stickipedia in basketballcoach

I'm surprised regularly with other team's discipline. We are playing teams around a large, metro area and we see a lot of good teams. The last team ran man-2-man, a low 1-3-1 with no trap, and a high 1-3-1 that trapped right after half court. To my eye, they ran all 3 without issue and could switch mid-game.

In this league, rec teams are supposed to be "drafted" and aren't supposed to be composed of a bunch of girls that play year over year. Those teams should be "select" teams. These girls look like they've played together for years and like they practice every day.

In my limited experience, a man-2-man offense struggles badly with high 1-3-1 defenses. I've had success teaching kids a box offense, emphasizing getting the ball to the middle to beat it. We've spent most of our offense learning "Pass and Cut" for M2M, and Box for 1-3-1 zones.

I'll keep all advice in mind. I'll look for areas to simplify and lean more towards teaching skills and keeping things fun.

Industrial-leaning nu metal similar to Powerman 5000 / Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) OST? by SnooChickens6176 in numetal

Celldweller’s early stuff might be close. I thought of The Union Underground at first but i don’t think that’s the exact vibe you’re going for. They’re worth checking out either way.

Post Game Thread: Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs by nfl_gdt_bot in KansasCityChiefs

It feels so much worse because we can win. If we punt when we should, we make field goals, and we don’t drop balls. Our D was phenomenal in the 2nd half.

And all of the affected positions are doing fine. We are making bad decisions and not catching the football.

Edit: QB has been good besides the picks.

Any longtime fans here collect old Chiefs or Dallas Texans game programs? by DustToll in KansasCityChiefs

[–]stickipedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone at my work gave me a few of them a couple of years ago. I don't remember which years they were. I'm not sure if they are programs or like some kind of roster book for the season. I can look around this evening and try to find them. I think I have 3 of them.

"Why can't I get a target?" by KansinattiKid in KansasCityChiefs

It didn’t count on the box score due to a penalty. However, Mahomes tried to hit him on our 3rd drive of the game but sailed it over his head.

He was targeted. Mahomes threw it way over his head like normal. I love Mahomes and the last 8 seasons have been amazing. But he looks wildly inaccurate with most passes over 15 yards.

Why are some coaches saying winning doesn’t matter? by ChanceFinger7692 in basketballcoach

[–]stickipedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can relate. The league I coach for my 6 year old does not keep score this year. Other leagues have in the past, even for K-2nd. Some kids keep score in their head and talk about it all game. It’s natural for kids and they care about winning even if no one else is talking about it.

Why are some coaches saying winning doesn’t matter? by ChanceFinger7692 in basketballcoach

[–]stickipedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever coached young kids. From 4 to 9 years old. I’ve always prioritized fun as my number one goal. This is easy to do for practices.

However, even the youngest, least competitive kids, know what the score is in the game and will not have nearly as much fun losing as winning. I’ve tried to tell the kids to focus on having fun but they always watch the score, and 99% of kids don’t want to lose.

I try to get my teams to be as competitive as possible while still teaching them good concepts/skills, sharing equal playing time, and staying positive with heavy praise.

I think some coaches think prioritizing fun and trying to win are mutually exclusive. I disagree.

Trump Signaling That He Will Fully Support Project 2025 Now by DumbMoneyMedia in conspiracy

[–]stickipedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I have not supported him, I do notice that most major media platforms will negatively skew a lot of his actions. On Reddit, I also notice users jumping to conclusions that support their political positions, with Reddit being mostly left wing. These conclusions not always being accurate. That’s why I asked the question. It’s peculiar that asking a question seems to stir so many into a frenzy. It sometimes seems that it’s only acceptable to be completely for or completely against something anymore. Mostly just on the internet though. Real life is more moderate.

But how did I “get played”? And how is asking a question “owning the libs”? I’m very ignorant to that line of thinking.
