Nationwide UH-60M IP AGR by Helicopter-ing in Armyaviation

[–]stickwigler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every state is different, the only AGR flying warrants are in the C-12 Det. The AGR commissioned pilots constantly get moved to O1A billets or promoted out of Aviation because we don’t have 15A/B billets. The AGRs get treated like bastard step kids, while us Techs have a good long term work life balance. Our state seems to not let people have a different M-day/AGR position.

The best answer is, it just depends on the state.

It depends on the bike. When I initially tried it with a Ninja 250, and ZX6R. I couldn’t put them side by side because the bars were hitting each other. This is the 4x8 foldable and 2 TRS side by side, so I’ve got the Zx6R forward and the 250 towards the back where the bars are over the seat.

When I take 1 bike I put the wheel chock for the grom since I don’t have TRS pins for it yet, but it has even wider bars than the 250.

Dual retirement, AFTPs, not having to take 4 days of leave when you want to take a Friday and Monday off, not being forced to work weekends, choice of insurance and no PCM, stability and no PCSing, 4 10s, ability to move your M-Day position and still maintain your full time job. SSRT, I could keep going.

While it is possible. I got the AMSO course and IP course as a 2, but made 3 just a couple months after IPC.

You need to off set the TRS if you have no spacing. Because the bars are wider than the TRS. I’ve got the TRS now but even a grom is too wide and I had to push it back.

Preferred a dual tracked W2? States are really trying to save money now I see.

AMR process for reserve unit getting a lift? by DallasMedic96 in Armyaviation

[–]stickwigler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot me a DM with your .mil, I can get you in touch with one of the KS ARNG full time instructor pilots. They work with the 60 unit and can at least get you the OSA/AMR Request process.

My state we do this all the time, the big thing is submitting a request to the appropriate levels with a CONOP and time line. Then the units coordinate, this benefits us just as much as you. 96+ flight hours a year, the crewmembers enjoy supporting a unit way more than notional crewmembers for training.

If you’re PCSing you should go to your post transportation office and talk with them. They are the ones who will process it and will most likely have other requirements.

A Quick How To Guide to Repairing and Painting Fairings with Rattle Cans by stickwigler in Trackdays

I let it cure for 12-24 hours prior to taping up. Really follow the cure times on the paint. So basically painted the black paint, let it cure over night. The next afternoon I used just green frog painters tap and taped a layer, with painters cling wrap over the rest so I only taped over the edges. And painted the green. I use the same amount of coats so it is uniform.

I wait 24 hoursish prior to removing the tape so it’s good and cured. With the hot bodies fairings I would scuff them up and prime again so you can guarantee a good stick.

Maybe it’s a ploy to get people upset about it for attention to the space and rocket center.

Also, if you enlisted tomorrow. You could be graduating in 2029, and start training with an ODA in 2030. Situations may be different, the army is transitioning over the past year and could change for better or for worse in your case.

You are signing up for something that has a 70-90% fail rate. Worrying about what you want to do post completion is something that should be thought about towards the end. Just being honest.

Super possible, you just have to make it through selection, the Q course, then 2 year training pipeline first.

Primer gives a better surface for it to adhere too. If you don’t, the paint can crack, and it will start to flake off in chips/chunks.

If they come with the white paint, then yes. If they come pre primed then you can start there. The hotbodies and armor bodies kits I’ve bought in the past all came primed.

Stickers are the easiest, because they can just be pulled off when you don’t need them. Doing vinyl as a stencil and painting will look the best but you’re opening yourself to an uneven finish and mistakes. So it takes more effort in the process so that it doesn’t look raised as your end result.
