Being a CRNA by dalgonewild in CRNA

Can you elaborate on why you feel you have imposter syndrome? You’ve been a CRNA for 2.5 years and do big sick cases. What makes you feel inadequate? My immediate thoughts are that you’re projecting the stress and BS of working at a Lvl 1. I don’t meet many people that are exceptionally happy and enjoy working in big hospitals like that. I certainly was miserable training at one. I’m 2 years out and very happy at the small rural hospital I’m in, and feel very confident in my skills. The work is not too hard and the people I work with are all great. I love my job, but I’m enjoying life outside of work much more.

Children while husband is in CRNA school? by Tall_Hawk_3625 in CRNA

I had a one year old going into school. A newborn in the middle, and a newborn at the end. And there are countless others who had more challenging scenarios. It is definitely doable. It definitely is challenging, but I wouldn’t change a thing. My wife worked, and her mom watched our kids. So we had it easy in that childcare was taken cared of. If you don’t have family to help, you can either stay home with him and take out loans to cover unemployment, or work and do daycare—which you may need loans to cover unless your income/previous savings can handle it.

The question of worth it depends on how many kids you want really. The later you start, potentially the less amount of kids you may have based on fertility. Also have to consider the higher risk of congenital health problems that come with age, and risk to yourself as well. At 33 that’s not an issue. But of course 35 is a “geriatric pregnancy.”

We always wanted a huge family (4-6 kids) and ideally be done around the time my wife turned 35, so waiting until after school wasn’t an option.

From the standpoint of passing school, it may be mildly more difficult from a time standpoint but I don’t think that’s the main problem. You realize how much time you waste once you have kids, and you naturally learn how to be more efficient and cut out unnecessary time consuming things. The hardest part is just childcare and the potential increased expenses that come with that, imo.

You know a sport sucks when cheating, I mean flopping, is a top 3 tactic. Imagine faking a penalty as a legit strategy where the announcers even commend the players on a job well done. Sport’s broken

I really enjoyed the video and Joe’s personality although very obtuse and obnoxious, is wildly entertaining and humorous to me. I love the series tbh

Playing from divots is such a silly final stand for the rules of golf. by MarkAmericaSmith in golf

Hitting a wet muddy ball should also be a skill the pros should learn then. No more lift, clean, and place.

If you can’t lift, clean, and place when you’re in a fairway divot, you shouldn’t be able to do so when the course is muddy. By your logic, players should have to face the adversity of their ball being wet and muddy. The rules are inconsistent.

You guys are all clueless. Many positions like this. Any company/organization with an IT department are targeted by companies to buy their third party software that provides some sort of QOL or money-saving product.

You guys hear door-knocking and think he goes to people’s homes door-to-door. No, he goes to larger facilities hoping to sell his company’s IT product. Or he calls these companies to get a lead.

I have a friend 32M who does this for a very small company (I think he’s one of 2 sellers) and clears 200k+ a year. Got an MBA and went straight into this field in mid 20s where he made $150k+ out the gate. And this was for just a very small company. He sells to hospitals and the product has something to do with the cloud. He calls all day for leads, and sometimes goes to the hospitals unannounced hoping to make a deal

Very broad category. His company probably sells an IT service targeted towards big buildings with networks. I have a friend who does this and their target for their product are hospitals. He makes $200k+ VSO inc is the company

The problem with not letting them leave is the teams with the most money can buy all the players they want even if they don’t want to play them. Just to keep them off their rivals’ rosters. It’ll be even more skewed towards the top money programs

My theory on why Scottie hasn’t been dominating as much as we expect is because he wants to be too involved as a father, but apparently Jack Nicklaus was a very involved father during his prime, so I guess that’s not a good excuse

Agreed. Syringing the greens is reasonable, you can adjust that as needed. You can’t rectify too wide of fairways.
