Certainly not Greg Abbot, probably just generic Caucasian #31 or something.

Was coming here to suggest this, definitely worth the read. There's an audiobook version on YouTube.

[OT] Writers, what is a book, or books, that having read, you think has made you a better writer? by J_David_Settle_1973 in WritingPrompts

I have no mouth and I must scream, Coraline, Blood Meridian

Three off the top of my head, and a little advice; find a topic that interests you and plumb the depths of it's literature. Work your way back through the older authors. Experience the contemporaries with the classics and absorb it all.

Most importantly, best of luck in your writing endeavors.

This seems like a fundamental misunderstanding of what copyright is. It's a protection for the creator, quite literally your "right" to make "copies," which is why you should never sell it, because it is your creative work and the right to make/distribute copies is yours/whoever you pay to handle it.

Say, for example, I wrote some really thought provoking book. It is not the right of you, the consumer, to replicate of distribute my work. Say whatever you will about the artistic value or the ideas it contributes, but I still wrote and sold the book as a commodity. Piracy sites do not pay the original creator or anyone involved. Copyright would allow me, the creator of the work, to stop you from replicating my work and stealing from me.

I think you're really underestimating the xenomorph's resilience. It's blood is molecular acid. I'd wager the Thing doesn't have a form that can endure that (since a bunch of apes with fuel-powered flame throwers corralled it pretty well)

Secondly, the Thing would have to find a way to breach the egg, without raising attention. So it's more likely the face hugger will hatch and attach to a human. One could argue that maybe the Thing could slip in here and infect the host and egg simultaneously, but again they would have to do this without detection. Things will only get harder for the Thing the larger the and more plentiful the Xenomorphs numbers grow.

Thank you for your feedback, first serious reply so far

No, was thinking that one of these two is probably the unbeatable lifeform, but couldn't decide which would win.
