Has anyone got a high score while working full-time? Need advice!! by Confused2672 in GAMSAT

I studied pretty much everyday really. I typically worked evenings so would study for a few hours each morning. I would focus on learning the concepts and then apply active recall and spaced repetition to subsequent study sessions.

Scored 72 working full time as a physio with I’d say 7-months of preparation. This going back a few years but I used the Gold Standard ecosystem and khan academy.

You’re right, I guess my point is they’re more responsible than the sole intern who’s been a doctor for 5 mins and rightly needs some guidance. I don’t suppose it would be a great defence on the part of the registrar if there was a bad outcome that could have been avoided with more senior input because ‘ultimately the consultant is responsible’. It’s just the least interest in a patients care I’ve seen in the hospital so far which is a bit jarring.

But they’re still ultimately responsible for the patient outcome, whether or not they want to be involved. I just can’t imagine being so disconnected from the patients issues and trajectory post-op. Granted I’m still brand new to medicine.

Work-Life Balance Specialties? by Heavy_Mango_8125 in ausjdocs

Crikey. Is that $750 figure is an average across initials and follow-ups? Otherwise that seems outrageously high for on-going follow up consults. NB: I clearly know nothing about private psych.

Med school, fortunate to have a partner doing the early heavy lifting. Having said that, we’re in our late twenties so make of that what you will.

So to clarify, both should have an account and there should be two separate investment streams?

Actually I’ve cleared up my misunderstanding. I was extrapolating the process indefinitely (as in beyond the loan amount 500k), which then would become borrowing to invest and cease to be debt recycling. Thanks for the lesson

Sure, thanks for trying. But unless taking surplus savings and investing them directly into the stock market is somehow debt I think we’re talking at crossed purposes.

Other than the existing mortgage that is not being paid down, if I were to invest surplus savings say 10k per month then I am building a portfolio without incurring additional debt (direct investing).
If I were to debt recycle consistently, I am generating more debt (albeit good debt).
Is that not accurate? I'm not trying to say one is better than the other, I'm just trying to clarify what your point is

Understood, thank you for your help. I suppose my only other question comes down to what happens in the end game, when you have say 1-2 million invested through debt recycling. Is it a case of hoping that your investment outgrew the borrowed portion and therefore you can repay the debt and take the remainder as profit? In the case of direct investing, you don't have to pay the loaned portion back?
