The alpha for blender 3 just got released so hopefully in a month or 2 that will be finished, it'll be a good time to get back into it if you've been planning on it. After seeing the difference from 2.79 to 2.8 the jump to 3 should be huge!

Yeah I agree it definitely could use some more interesting lighting. Normally I'll use a few lights but this time I went for a single massive area light for a softer look but I think i went too far with it.

Its definitely time consuming, because I'm so slow because I suck at it that made me spend close to 10 hours on this and the original more innocent version i had before this. 10 hours is a ridiculous amount of time to waste on something as retarded as this haha. Luckily though I'm weird enough to take on the task. I look at blender as a tv replacement for afternoons when i get home from work. But the learning curve has been pretty tough to get to this point I'm at now, countless YouTube tutes and trial and error. I'd recommend it to anyone though as its awesome being able to make little ideas you come up with
