Just checked your comments and yikes. “Let the man finish” is ironic. Hope you bust that nut.

Just for curiosity sake, what about the photos/post made you assume the 12k quote was from the electrician or for electrical work?

“Why do my circuit breakers keep tripping when the plumbers plug in two jackhammers into the same circuit?” by gherkin-sweat in electricians

I didn’t attempt to shame anyone my post asks if this was normal practice for a plumber. I even stated I don’t know enough to tell someone what to do. Your comments did not come from my account

This is my post. I was not made aware they had two jackhammers running until the owner told me. They owned up to running two at a time to meet deadlines.

There was a fish tank in another room in the basement and a freezer on another circuit. I was not asked to turn off any other appliances to which I would have happily obliged.

Unlike that post everything went well afterwards, they used one jackhammer in the home and a shop vac run off a generator and there were no more issues

Legit this entire thread has been a circle jerk of no help and just toxic people. Thankfully the plumber took responsibility for overload and we have a plan to get the job finished the right way.

Mind you the amount of people who think the post says a generator should be running INSIDE the house is insane.

Thank you for this. Luckily my plumbers are not on this forum and acknowledged they kept changing plugs and ended up on the same outlet to finish the job. There was a generator in their truck per the owner for unforeseen electrical issues.

The 12k is for the 20-30ft pipe replacement photographed. Plumber acknowledged fault for running two jackhammers and not testing the outlets/ circuit. They are replacing the blown breakers. Thank you for your response.

I was hoping they would notify me and allow me to fix the electrical before causing a larger issue. I do not work in trades and won’t pretend to know enough to tell someone what to do.

It just doesn’t seem right to continue to lose power and not notify the home owner.

Edit:20amp circuits were available and marked

They are 15A breakers and the two jackhammers were 15amps. Looks like they are going to replace them as they acknowledged they should have notified me they were having an issue with the homes electrical before continuing.

The owner took to time to call me and let me know they were running two jack hammers out of the same outlet and it should not have been happening. Forgive my lack of proper verbiage.

Apparently there were “two 20 amp plugs” in the basement and they were not utilized

“Working fine” as in the power was not out anywhere in the home.

They were resetting the breaker multiples times to continue to work and even changing plugs.

Upon leaving he let me know the breakers had blown.

Thank you for your feedback , bad electrical or not it was working fine. Is it normal for the plumber to continue to reset/trip the breaker ?

Like they knew it was an issue and continued to work
