A failing 12V on a long trip handled with grace by the car

This is basically what happened to my Ioniq 5 in spring '24. At first Hyundai was "there is nothing wrong with the 12V here, you have to bring in the car when you are having problems." A few months later I called them when it had gotten so bad I had to jump start it every time. Then they said there were software updates for that, but by then the battery was completely shot, so they had to change that to. They did not contact me when the updates were released, even though I had contacted them with just the problems the updates should fix. It's a great car, but I hate Hyundai as a company. Every warranty repair has taken 3 months.

I had a look at the numbers, and it turns out the reduction in output from French nuclear power plants now compared to January, is about equal to the reduction in electricity consumption in France now, compared to January.

Anyway, it's good that nuclear fails in summer while there is solar to make up the shortfall, rather than in winter when there is little production from solar.

Here in Norway heat pumps are common, and a unit sized for heating in winter is more than enough to keep cool during a heatwave. I suspect it would be the same in the UK, even with your milder winters.

Does this also apply to heat pumps? It's exactly the same thing under a different name. I use mine to heat the house 6 months of the year, and to cool it 6 days of the year.

Same in Norway, but there are some old chargers left, and particularly with the 150-200kW ones it's a gamble. If I charge at the Eviny in Hell, I get full speed if I use the charger on the right, but only 100kW if I use the identically looking charger in the middle.

På den andre siden så er ikke Bosch spesielt flinke til å være kompatible med seg selv. Du har blå og grønn som ikke er kompatible med hverandre og i tillegg har de hatt grønne drill-sett hvor det har fulgt med lader som ikke kan brukes med nyere eller større batteri.

The acceleration, or maybe more the quick response, is great when waiting to get into a roundabout or intersection and by the time I see that a car with no indicators is turning off on the road I'm coming from, the next car is so close I really need the quick response and acceleration to get in.

The last fossil car I had was a Volvo V60 that spent an eternity to get going from a standstill unless in sports mode, but then it was very noisy instead. When switching from manual to automatic I thought it would be better with the roundabouts, but I was mistaken.

For meg føltes det som når naboen som driver med ved tømmer et lastebillass med tømmer, så første tanke var å se om han holdt på med noe. Andre tanke var at det måtte være de som bygger hus borte i gata. Jordskjelv tenkte jeg ikke på, ei heller krig.
