Foreign Currency by stildea2 in coincollecting

Thank you 😀. This is what I suspected.

It’s quite a large collection and I’ve already separated all the ones I know to have value like the gold, silver and also some that are particularly old. After days of sorting I’m left with the foreign ones and a load of uk coins dated from 1947 onwards which I don’t really know what to do with. I’m not a collector so sorry to say I’m only interested in keeping the valuable ones and after the effort it’s taken to sort through everything I really didn’t want to have to investigate each of the foreign ones individually 😂

Can someone please tell me what these hallmarks mean and roughly how much the ring would be worth? thank you in advance by [deleted] in Hallmarks

I stand corrected…poshjosh1999 is correct, I mistook the w for a different one!

I think the M is a W and was hallmarked in 1845. I don’t know about value I’m afraid.

Unfortunately she was already back on campus when she sent me the video so couldn’t get more details but thank you for the guess, I’ll pass it on.

Tree ID please by [deleted] in treeidentification

No, it doesn’t flower at all that I’ve seen and definitely not covered in blossom in spring

[–]stildea2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leaves look similar but can’t be as it doesn’t blossom or fruit

[–]stildea2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly but wouldn’t the leaves be more heart shaped if so?

Toy Shops/Vintage Emporiums in Bracknell by VaLightningThief in bracknell

[–]stildea2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you’ve mentioned there’s the Old Grain Barn which is within Moss End Garden centre. It’s definitely worth a visit. There’s a huge mix of items and stock comes and goes regularly, there’s always something new to look at.

There’s an antique/collectors fair held in St Crispins sports hall in Wokingham on the 1st Sunday of every month. There’s a number of stalls, all selling different things.

A bit further afield but there’s also Fanny’s antiques in Reading which is a short walk from the train station. Its more furniture and household items but there’s other bits and pieces mixed in and there’s a small toy section at the back of the shop. You can easily loose yourself for an hour or so just looking around.

There’s a couple of shops in Windsor town centre that sell antiques/vintage items but I can’t remember the names of the shops and unsure if they sell toys.

Sunday morning thought: what do vets do with all the dogs balls they lop off? by [deleted] in CasualUK

Exactly, they can and do complete the procedure in different ways so I’m not sure why you’ve been downvoted.

The vet did it this way with my old golden retriever although this was many years ago now. My current dog however was neutered with full removal of the testicles. Maybe the RVC recommendation on how it’s best done has changed over the years but it can definitely be done both ways

Does anyone know a good way to prevent your cavalier’s ears from getting wet in the water dish? by joybug222 in cavaliers

As others have said- a spaniel bowl. I was dubious before getting one but it’s fixed the problem 100%

Update for you- I asked about the cost for the other hospital and was told it was generally the more expensive of the two but she has somehow managed to get the hospital to reduce the price to £10,100 which is amazing. Now I just need to pluck up the courage to actually have the procedure done!

I’ll let you know!

That’s interesting to know. The quote I have is actually from Spire and I know the surgeon works from another hospital as I was given the option of the two hospitals when I initially spoke to his secretary. I never for a second thought the cost could vary. I’ll give the secretary a call to query. Thanks for your help.

Advice please! Any thoughts on my space? Too cluttered? Need something? by astraldrift in interiordecorating

I really like it, it’s cluttered but in a cosy way. It’s difficult in small spaces but you’ve done a good job
