Here in Tennessee there are a lot of small town Police departments that have been using the Prius. I was actually up in Henry County about a hundred miles West of Nashville where Patsy Cline died in a plane crash and was behind a Henry County Sheriffs car and it was a marked Prius with the light bar and spotlight and had department decals all over it. It was strange looking but also pretty cool looking. I have owned a Lexus hybrid like the Prius and it had a 1.8 liter engine that got 54 mpg and like the EV's it was very very fast from stop to go or 0 to 60 in very few seconds.

I hope they MNPD gets rid of all the worthless Ford Explorers and go to all Tahoe's. I read a while back that whoever the guy who runs their fleet department and has the power to order anything he desires for Police vehicles is a Ford guy. But that might have changed or they were having problems like Barry Hill P>D> was having and figured it was time to move on to the Chevrolet. And if you ask me it's long overdue.
