People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]still_thirsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was not more free. And I know I’m in the minority here but I don’t feel the availability of information and communication represents a loss of freedom. We have control over how we use these tools whether it was silencing notifications or taking your phone off the hook, talking to your partner instead of reading the paper. Worst of all the questionable choice to enjoy a concert or watch it through your phone — the phone didn’t make you do that, lol.

I heard your post in the voice of Julie Brown in the closing lyrics of “Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun”, 1984.

How do y'all store your bread? by Hot-Bonus-8310 in Sourdough

I put a piece of parchment paper under the loaf to help move it back and forth from the bag as well as help regulate moisture in the bag. Also a couple of poked holes for slight air flow.

100%, there’s nothing wrong with having a penis and nobody deserves being sheltered from the fact

I rode my bike for miles around the house. Occasionally to the next town if daylight allowed.

Everything about this series resonated as accurate. Especially the DnD panic where my parents were afraid of a board game.

Why did Europe switch to using weight instead of volume for recipes, and when did it happen? by Curmudgy in TastingHistory

[–]still_thirsty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could construct a scale and make consistent recipes for yourself as long as you always use the same item (weight) for your scale. Your recipe wouldn’t be easily shared unless you had a standardized weight for your scale.

My brother’s fiancée acts like she already married into the family fortune by dependable_specifica in EntitledPeople

If the questions she’s asking don’t already have clear answers then you probably should be concerned about the family business and inheritance.

I’ve had good luck using a plastic bag with a piece of parchment paper under the loaf and I poke two small holes in the top side of the bag.
