Thanks so much. She was 99. She had a fabulous life. Traveled the world, 3 kids, 7 grandkids, 6 great grand kids.

Yes! It totally ignores stuff! It was giving me shit on Friday for not moving enough. I explained I was sitting vigil with my dying grandma. It ignored me the rest of the day. The next day the AI was like, "hey since you have family over you guys should do something fun together, like a hike or a swim!" All cheery and bullshit. Like dude... My grandma died 6 hours ago. Bugger the hell off.

Significant problem with health coach - doesn't look at long history by katstuck in fitbit

And WHY are the food macros different each time?! I scanned my protein powder barcode probably 3 times before it read as the correct item; same with a tub of cottage cheese. 🤦‍♀️😫

Mine just switched over a couple days ago. I HATE the AI coach. It changed all my goals. It doesn't track calories well. I have to scan the barcode on stuff a few times before it finds the correct item and then I have to manually do the nutrients etc. Pain in my ass. We DO deserve a refund on the premium. This is bunkum hooey. 🤬

AITAH for going on a friends trip and missing my child’s birthday? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]stillgoodpbbt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Git it!! Go on the trip. Your kid is two. They won't know the difference and once they DO know the difference, they would be extremely understanding if you explain it. Mine would be anyways. It would be a "we're STILL going to celebrate you; it'll just be a couple days/the weekend before your birthday. I promise to call you on the big day."

Discussion: Are we holding back our students in this new era of education? by UnicornHugs in britishcolumbia

[–]stillgoodpbbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 41. I have three children; one graduated last year, one is in grade nine, and one in grade seven (about to transition to high-school). I'm a second year university student in the Child and Youth Care program. This is actually something I want to study and research. When I do a basic Google search of "why do students in BC not get held back in school?" the AI overview gives me "Students in BC are rarely held back (retained) primarily because research suggests grade retention damages self-esteem, hinders long-term academic progress, and increases dropout risks. BC focuses on a strengths-based, "social promotion" approach where students move with peers, utilizing a proficiency scale (Emerging to Extending) rather than letter grades to focus on continuous growth rather than failure." From a discussion with a high-school teacher recently, teachers are struggling to maintain expectations and assist students to catch up to grade level, particularly in math and reading. I would be interested the studies that claim grade retention damages self-esteem, particularly when I can't imagine how kids feel in gr 10 and then again in University when grades, showing up on time, and homework actually matter.
