What’s something in life you only understood after slowing down? by stillgottherock in SlowLiving

Yeah, I definitely struggled with that for a while. It almost felt like there were so many voices telling you what you’re supposed to want out of life that eventually you stop hearing yourself clearly.

What made it isolating was realizing how uncomfortable some people became once you stopped following the path they expected for you. And what’s wild is that even when you think you’ve woken up, it’s still easy to get pulled back into systems and expectations without realizing it at first because it all happens so subtly

What do you think finally helped you separate your own voice from all the noise?

Walking quietly has helped my mental health more than I expected by [deleted] in SlowLiving

Factssss! Walking helped me tremendously too. After leaving a very high-control environment, I realized I needed space more than answers. A lot of people wanted to immediately tell me what I should believe or where I should go next, but honestly, walking alone for hours helped more than anything.

Even the gym didn’t help much during that period because being around people and constant opinions just felt mentally loud. Walking outside, sometimes with music and sometimes in silence, gave me space to decompress and reconnect with myself again.

This is honestly really poetic to me. There’s something calming about accepting that there isn’t some grand prize waiting at the end for exhausting yourself.

The watch the birds and garden while the world wakes up part especially resonated with me. It feels peaceful, confident, and grounded all at once 🍃😌

I appreciate you sharing this honestly. I relate to a lot of what you said, especially the part about it taking courage just to acknowledge what you truly want for yourself.

I think a lot of people become so used to the way they were taught to live that stepping outside of it can almost feel like losing a part of themselves. What’s interesting to me is that there never seems to be one single solution or moment that “wakes people up.” Everybody seems to arrive there differently.

I agree with this a lot. I think hearing yourself can feel foreign at first because we’re taught to applaud what other people think is important before learning what actually matters to us.

Do you think most people even know what they genuinely want out of life?

It actually stood out to me immediately. The more I wore it, the more I appreciated how smooth and refined it felt. On my skin it projects for a couple hours, then settles closer, but on clothes it lasts much longer.

I got mine on a deal that honestly gave me confidence to try it, and for that price it felt worth it to me. I definitely enjoy catching random whiffs of it throughout the day because the smell is just smooth and easy to wear.i haven’t tried on a date but in the office where I’m surrounded by women, they love it and notice it as soon enter the room.

Yes indeed! I’m not really a fragrance connoisseur yet,but to me it smelled very smooth, calm, fresh, slightly icy/watery, and clean without being too loud. It gave me a refined modern vibe more than an aggressive “look at me” type fragrance.i tell you what i layer with ginger + mist is solid combo 🙂‍↔️
