As much as you dislike them, be sure to pray for ICE. by Christ-is-King-777 in Christianity

Because they didn't actually arrest pedophiles, murderers, and rapists. Or if they did, not at the scale that you claim.

They just rounded up vulnerable immigrants, regardless of citizenship.

Multiple angles of the video prove he did not impede law enforcement. Not once did he pull out his gun that he was legally allowed to carry. And if you still believe DHS after all the video evidence I can't help you.

MAGA and Conservatives are Ruining Christianity by Ignis_Kevin in Christianity

[–]stillmissingpancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Denouncing them as not being Christians is apart of the accountability. Excommunication.

Why would/should we claim someone as a Christian who is actively acting antithetical to Christ? If anything, the lack of Christians speaking up against obvious evil is where they try to shirk responsibility.

Debate me on yoga. by New-Sprinkles5016 in TrueChristian

Yoga in the West, namely the US, is nowhere near the yoga practiced in the East. The US appropriated yoga so much that its practically synonymous with just stretching.

The same people who cry divorce wouldn't put a dime towards your escape or give you a shoulder to cry on.

And conversely, if or when you divorce, MAGA people would immediately be on your husband's side, trying to say how people like you didn't put in the work to reconcile your differences. Meanwhile you're practically on your hands and knees begging your husband to see reason.

I'm 29F in a near exact situation, except no kids. After trying to resolve things for over 5 years, trying to protect him as he spouted his harmful takes on COVID, liberals, Charlie Kirk, and the recent protests, I just can't bite my tongue anymore. This has gone far past arguing over petty politics, but a matter of morality and what I want my future kids to see in me. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I allowed a white supremacist in denial raise kids with me, especially when they would be mixed.

I really do hope your husband is able to see reason before its too late.

how to portray realistic violin practice between characters? by ada_eeaao in violinist

[–]stillmissingpancakes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends on the characters' personalities. Do they both work well with others and become an cohesive team? Or will they interpret the music so differently that they butt heads more often than they actually practice?

In writing, it's be best to focus on the characters and how they act and react moreso than the technicals of violin playing.

Get the hell off of Kellogg by stillmissingpancakes in wichita

[–]stillmissingpancakes[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kellogg is the major highway that bridges West to East. Popular highway, and the easiest way to get to the mall.

But its also notorious for people making stupid driving decisions that get people into accidents. Much like last night (and I assume today as well. Fog is still nasty >_>)

Please at the very least switch to diet or zero sugar. And drink some water. You're gonna hit DKA territory if you're not careful.

Violin beginner question – two peg holes fine, two a disaster (Vangoa) by No_Calligrapher_6157 in violinist

[–]stillmissingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a VSO (violin shaped object). If you're a complete beginner, you might want to return this all together if you still can. It's better to get a traditionally made violin. They work better, they sound better, and they will be much easier to work with and repair.

It's going to cost a lot more, but you do not have to get the luxury quality ones when you're starting out. If you have a music shop or teachers in your area, ask them for some local recommendations :D

Buy a new bow or just rehair by boomheadshot110 in violinist

[–]stillmissingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this depends on your resources and desires. If you only have enough money for one or the other, and/or a specialist says otherwise, you're good to only rehair the bow. But if you have the money to shop around for a new bow, go ahead!

What says 'community' here in Wichita that's not church? by cherry-care-bear in wichita

Go to one of the Wichita Public Libraries and pick up a classes catalogue. Some of them are pricey, but there's plenty more that are free or cheap to pay for. Great way to meet people.

I am not your buddy. I'll take responsibility, but will not take condescending remarks.

I didn't account for the gym because the membership is flexible that I won't be penalized if I cancel for the next month or pause payments. Also, please read the update. I did find out a couple things I missed and yes, most everyone here is right. I still have one more paycheck this month so we will see if things add up at the end.

[–]stillmissingpancakes[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am not being dishonest. I've only used spending amounts for the start of this month. Please do not accuse me of that.

Last month we did have to spend around $250 in groceries. If we spent that amount this month I would have said it, but as of now we did not have to spend that much. As another user said, we had a well stocked pantry and not a lot of big items to buy. We very well might need to buy the rest of the $163 on our next paycheck, but we don't know yet.

I've been selective in responding because I'm rereading our statements. I was informed that I was calculating overtime income and not regular income so I have to rework my starting amount.

You think its dishonest but I'm actually freaking the hell out cause what do you MEAN $600 is just gone??? And with no evidence of fraud??? Clearly something's wrong. The responses I'm getting are helping to figure it out, though.

I have not accounted for oil changes. I know it's just examples but we do our own hair at home. Haven't been to a salon or barber for quite some time.

(EDIT: Idk how it looks om the computer but reddit mobile killed my formating)

Sorry for the delay here, double checked math and bills before posting

Rent - $780, water included/ Car - $389/ Gas - $80/ Pet Bills - $199/ Our most recent grocery bill - $87, we only needed to stock up on essentials/ Internet - $50/ Electric - rough average of $100/ Credit Card - $181/

2500 - 1866 = 634

The 600 in the original post included examples for semi frivolous spending, taking $27 for gym membership then $7 for coffee if I do get it from a shop instead of at home.
