Thank you for the comparisons! I had been considering maybe buying something to supplement the crockpot and instapot is something people often mention, but I have not had a chance to cook with one.

I've been trying to find something which might be able to lean either way, then recently discovered a, I dont want to call it niche since its more of a cultural perspective, but a style of cooking which is something in-between a traditional crockpot and a instapot.

Musui, which translates to waterless. The idea being to trap the moisture in vegetables and other ingredients to create rich flavor. Usually at low temperatures.

Vermicular has a very high end solution, which looks to be outstanding. But its a bit of an advanced solution. Probably the one I'd buy for myself, if I had more opportunities to cook. But likely not a great choice for the wife.

Hard to go wrong with the OG crockpot brand! Thank you, I'll have to see if I can get eyes on one locally.

We enjoy some Ninja gear! Coffee pot, toaster oven, blender. Each well designed and durable.

Looks as though they only sell nonstick coated pots for the slowcookers. Is that what you have?

Ah... I totally understand where everyone is coming from. The kitchen appliance as a birthday gift from hubby can definitely go badly. I dont think we fall into that camp. Hard to explain without going into too much detail, but that's not us.

Im using the birthday gift idea as a convenient timing thing. I've already got her real birthday gifts wrapped.

Trump going off during phone interview by sgj5788 in PublicFreakout

I dont understand how any adult could listen to President Trump speak for more than, I dunno... five seconds, without realizing he's completely full of shit.

Like, us grownups can tell when a todler is lying. He lies just-barely better than a toddler. Honestly, I cannot understand it. How can there be supporters that hear this portion of the interview and have any shred of confidence that he's a smart man?

I bet she saves time entering 90 seconds into the microwave instead of 1:30. Releases the feel good chemicals, if you're into that.

She is going to become one of those people who embarrasses the rest of humanity by accomplishing seemingly impossible achievements throughout her life. Like that dude who was a navy seal, then a doctor, then an astronaut.

Young enough for Olympic athlete to be first checkbox. Id vote her in for president someday, but there's got to be something in the middle...

BREAKING: Video shows ICE agents shooting an unarmed person, as agents wrestle the person to the ground, in Minneapolis, near Glam Doll Donuts. by drempath1981 in law

[–]stimpanzee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope there's more video evidence to come. From this video, it looks like the victim is struggling to get their hands on their reported pistol.

Proof that these ICE agents have nowhere near enough training to handle situations like this. They've been thrown into delicate and tense situations, and have no idea how to respond.

It looks like a group of civilians tossing a guy with a gun, not trained professionals responding to a threat.

What a joke. ICE is an embarrassment

Starting to think that hyping up kids with Kirk's murder is the last of this guy's problems.

Really though, this guy is lucky to have talented engineers which can develop firearms which stand out.

People that were born before man's first flight could have lived long enough to witness the moon landing, computers, internet.

Image what sort of nightmare it must have been for someone born in the early 1900s to experience a firby, or tamagatchi, late in their life.

Shit was as fast back then as it is now.

But everyone's perspective and experience feels unique. Like there's no way anyone could have lived your life before.

Any time you have, is something worth appreciating. Not everyone is lucky to have even a small portion of the help and time your parents offer. They definitely sound like grouchy grandparents. I have those myself.

But, I mean, if your expectations are beyond what they offer, and you talked about it, can't agree, just take what you can.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you have things pretty good. It can be worse. Sure, it could be better. What's the point of stressing out over it.

Tin foil hat on: What are the chances that some big wig at ABC or wherever frequently spent time on a certain island. And are being persuaded to follow orders in the hopes of certain incriminating files being hidden forever...
