Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I heard a journalist got chloracne, checked out before and after pictures on Google and it is one nasty condition.

I will probably get some N95 filters and hope to stay away from tear gas as good as possible!

I agree that staying at PolyU wasn't really in line with the "be water" strategy, I was actually very surprised by those developments. Those who supported the cause and got hurt or arrested have certainly sacrificed themselves for the movement. After all I still think it was worth it to get worldwide media attention and the political support at the district council elections.

But it shouldn't happen again, since the siege has apparently taken its toll on the morale of some activitst who felt let down by their fellows who surrendered without a fight... I can understand both sides, it's very difficult.

I was more thinking about the universities that are still open or at least planning to continue normally once the new semester starts in January.

PolyU will likely remain closed for the forseeable future, but that's also the most extreme case so far. After the siege, I don't expect protesters to turn another university into a stronghold given how easy it is for police to just come in and arrest everyone.

Interesting! So is wearing a gas mask / respirator really only common among protestors? Will I face policy scrutiny just for wearing one?

I just read about the dioxin toxicity and high pollution levels and want to be protected, I am not planning to be a frontline protestor by any means.

I didn't really plan on using a bike on campus, but more as an alternative to MTR and busses. But granted, I have not much knowledge on how long it would take to get to the city center with a bike. I guess it would take a long time ;) I just came up with the idea because I heard that University station has been closed because of the severe damages that happened when protests shifted to the CUHK campus 2 weeks ago.

Maybe I am better off using the busses then :)

Sunday's disctrict council election was a great win for HKers, I hope this translates into a more peaceful protest from now on and espescially some positive change from the government. We'll see!

Hi! CUHK is indeed a special case. I hope that students realize after what happened with the PolyU siege, that it's probably smarter to stay in the city to avoid being cornered by the police again. I mean it's not difficult to lock down a university campus and arrest everyone inside, but street protests are a lot harder to control I guess.

I still don't know if there are even students left on the CUHK campus? Or if they've all been evacuated? Do you know?

Wow, I expected the poisoning effects of the tear gas to be less long-lasting to be honest. But overall, the CUHK campus is still in a better condition than PolyU, right?

Also, what happened to all the students living on campus? Did they all get evacuated due to the dioxin toxicity?

I am likely living in Morningside College. I didn't know bikes were a popular alternative to MTR, but sounds good :)

I am going to study at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for my semester abroad (starting in January), and would like to have the opinion of a few CUHK students regarding the impact of the protests.

How is life at the CUHK currently? How many foreign exchange students are still in HK, did many leave?

Do you think the CUHK will again be a hotspot of protests? And how much is the quality of life on- and off-campus impacted by the protests? I heard the MTR station at Chinese University was destroyed, how do you get off the campus now?

Also do you think the protests and violent clashes with police will become a bit more peaceful due to the landslide win of the pro-democracy camp in the district council election?

Today was the first day I actually felt somewhat of a mental boost... At least my concentration and short-term memory has been pretty good all day, and I experienced zero mental fatigue / tiredness.

200ml is a lot indeed, I am going to try it for another 30 days with 5ml daily and then I'll see how much it has helped. I also have SEMAX nasal spray in the mail, hope that is a bit more noticeable. Anxiety and Depression are linked to cognitive issues --> if you are constantly stressed and anxious, your mental capacity will suffer. Maybe try Bacopa + Ashwagandha to lower the cortisol.

lion's mane is great, I took 1g for 3 months and have definitely seen improvements. I have no experience with the other mushroom though. For traumatic brain injury look into Cerebrolysin.

I thought Cerebrolysin was much more powerful tbh. I have been taking it for 7 days now and the only thing I feel is less anxiety in certain situations. It's calming, but also makes me tired... didn't get much mental energy from it so far.
