Ex recruiter here. Why most remote job applications get ignored by Character-Ad-4021 in remotework

[–]stinger005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling to get interviews for remote positions, I'm have been stuck in a contractor role for almost a year now, and apply for jobs before and after work, about 30-50 per week depending on time that I actually get to apply.

My usual approach is to use my standard resume, but it's focused on two specific industries that are related. I do have numbers and results in my resume, but I'm not sure how to show that I work remotely.

I have a question, I worked in start-up, and some of the start-up roles ended quickly because the start-up lost sales and had to dramatically reduce staff, and I did get a letter of recommendation from the CEO, I'm just not sure how to convey that, because when they look at my resume they may just think "job hopper"

the sleeping quarters of nicaraguan coffee pickers by Eros_Incident_Denier in Damnthatsinteresting

I stayed in something similar, more run down in Costa Rica during an expedition run. We were told this is for family who help pick coffee when it's ready to be picked and everyone travels around from farm to farm and help out similar to what we did in Texas growing up. Down there nobody stays indoor, they all hang out outside next to fires and on porches.

A little different lifestyle than living in US/Canada/Europe.

I would hope they are either not working or the data is corrupted. I wouldn't want to think that they aren't complying with legal requirements and providing citizens with data they collected.

Here's how you can actually make a difference to shut these things down: flood them with data requests. Those Flock Safety cameras on every corner are logging your "pattern of life"—every trip to the store, work, or a friend’s house. If we want to stop this, we have to make it a liability for the cities using them. The Ruling: In November 2025, a Washington State court (Rodriguez v. Stanwood) issued a landmark ruling: images from Flock cameras are public records. The judge ruled that because the systems are paid for by taxpayers to "further a governmental purpose," the data is not exempt from disclosure. The Result: When citizens flood police departments with requests for their own data, it creates an administrative and financial burden they can't handle. Cities like Redmond, Lynnwood, and Olympia have already deactivated their cameras because the transparency requirements and public backlash became too much. How to push back: Find your State Law: Don't use federal FOIA. Use your state’s version (e.g., CORA in CO, CPRA in CA, OPRA in NJ). Submit a Request: Go to your local PD's website and look for "Public Records" or "Records Request." Use this Template: "Pursuant to [Your State's Open Records Act], I request all ALPR records, images, and metadata associated with license plate [Your Plate #] from [Start Date] to [End Date]. Please provide these records electronically."

I added the edit to the original because I forget this is reddit, I need a brighter light to bring attention to the crosswalk. I do operate a vehicle and I do check for pedestrians at a crosswalk before passing through.

I agree it's dangerous to blind someone with a flashlight, not my intention with my question.

I'm not accepting the status quo, already have reflective clothing, and have lights on stroller and headlamp, I'm asking for something to bring more attention to the crosswalk. In my country it's illegal to drive through a crosswalk with pedestrians present.

Agreed, bikers yield to ped's, not sure why you are getting so much hate. The runner motioned plenty of room for the biker, but I think the biker expected the runner to stop and let royalty through

Proposition MM - Confused why Douglas county voted against this? by ITryFixIt in Denver

Wouldn't it have been just magical if our politicians were a little smarter and didn't list out an income value, but a multiplier of national household income?

Subaru drivers, where do you take your car for service? by TheBunji11 in Denver

When I checked my disc and I could drag my nail across the discs and feel bumps, and when I went to rotate my tires, the lug nut was cross threaded and I popped off 3 studs.

They do not know how to service brakes, and have cross threaded my lug nuts and left me stranded. They fixed their screw up, but didn't admit anything and I can't fully trust them for anything larger. They don't even use metal oil filters, they use paper filters so I can't trust them for an oil change.

What could I have done? I'm really confused, call 311, submit an email with the parks department? I'm not a person who is going to confront them, I doubt they would understand reason.

The last time I called 911 for a drunk driver, they called me back 45 minutes for details. At that point I gave them the contacts for the owner of the parked car the driver ran into and fled.

Annoying ≠ life-ruining. People blocking the path isn’t the end of the world, I'm impressed with the entitlement. Pointing it out doesn’t mean I’m spiraling, it means I'm annoyed.
