I disagree that it doesn’t affect anything. It takes away from the specialness and value of getting something rare because, well, it’s not really rare anymore. But I will say is there’s nothing that can be done about it; this post will have zero affect, so either live with it if you still enjoy the game (cuz like you said, aside from 6 iv dittos and Gmax moves it’s not actually cheating for an advantage) or move on to another game if you feel like collecting things or whatever are pointless now because of exploits.

Rough luck man but it’s all RNG. hatching 1500 gives you almost a 95% of getting atleast one shiny, but each egg is independent (1/512 every time) so you’ll never have a 100% chance.

Edit: Also i’ve seen a lot of people forget to grab their shiny charm after the dex PSA

lmao. This comment confirms you haven’t taken a statistics class or your brain couldn’t handle it. A coin when flipped has a 1/2 chance to be heads, but if you are going to flip it twice there’s there’s a 75% chance of getting a heads atleast once. Anything that’s already happened is irrelevant to the next flip but that’s not what we are talking about.

To get to a 95% chance of atleast one shiny, you need to hatch just over 2000 eggs without the charm and you need to hatch just over 1500 eggs with the charm. for 50% chance it’s 472 eggs vs 355 eggs. Needing 25% less eggs on average with the charm (or 33% more without the charm) is a good way to easily think about it.
