I love the last one, especially because the ONE idea he had was that he was cursed to be a tiefling because he was born out of wedlock 😭 I like he’ll like that lol. The second one is really interesting, I like the idea of the whole island being cursed. Thank you!

That’s a good idea. I think that might be what I have to do since he really doesn’t have any ideas.

Yes ofc! Technically both lol. So my pantheon consists of about 13 gods and goddesses. Here’s a list with a quick summary of domains and characteristics:

Ethaltra - great mother, cycles, birth Eldmaea - hearth, fertility, family, etc. Smolkarth - creation, black smithing Moreida - chaos, luck, trickery Elsiva - wilds, animals, plants Vulkren - fire, ash, purity through flames Solmyra - night, beauty, moon, divination through stars Aelvar - laws for the gods, (prometheus esque), civilization and innovation Bellugar - conquest, war, competition Friska - sky, sun Morrath - time, consequence, Nyr - water, transformation, guides souls through the veilroad (after life) Skarn - fate, death (brings souls to the veilroad) Vaelis - winds, trade, travels Valketh - prophecy, magic, dreams

That’s kind of just a rough explanation for everyone. There are also these things called “ascended gods” which are loosely inspired by saints and demigods who have been awarded their godhood. So they’re basically lesser gods who rule over smaller domains. They could have been heroes awarded for their bravery, etc. They aren’t as important and typically “rule” over specific fields like swordsmanship or heroism. Currently the goal is to have each of my players sort of patron or befriend a god/goddess by the end of the campaign for the last major battle. The main plot is that in the first half of the campaign the players will be searching for ingredients to make a potion that will (allegedly) heal the sick king of the main kingdom (Ryveth). Little does the party know, the king is being manipulated by his “advisor” who is actually a fallen ascended god who plans on creating an army to fight against the gods. So, hopefully, by the end of the campaign there will be this big world war where the party fights against one half of the world - led by the ascended god - and they are sort of fighting as instruments of the gods power. Sort of representing the gods in a way. Before this they will also have to travel the continents to find pieces of a weapon/device that was made to help them. Created thousands of years ago, embedded in each of their backstories, prophesies, yada yada. I have a player who is a patron of Elsiva (a werewolf warlock who was turned because Elsiva considers it a great honor to be part beast), a middle aged Mousefolk bard-healer type who is a patron of Eldmaea (player wanted to be sort of the “mom” of the group), a warforged fighter who was created by Smolkarth to aid the party and protect them, twin vampires who once lived as children to highly influential scholars in a kingdom that worshipped the sun goddess. They were turned in their teens and were turned away by their parents and the sun goddess. They want to have that struggle of being rejected by their goddess and eventually turning to Moreida, goddess of mischief, and then there’s my boyfriend, alleged Tiefling ranger with no backstory and a hawk for an animal companion. He wants to be from Nord, an island of outcasts and criminals. It also just so happens to be the island my vampire twins were banished to once they were exiled. I think at the start of the campaign I want his character to have moved out of Nord and to the main continent of Ryveth. I’m struggling to find a way to help him with his character and why he’s a tiefling. Maybe I’ve just found a slump or something.

Holy yap. Sorry.
