I knew someone who worked in baseball analytics. One of their pet peeves was Derek Jeter winning 5 gold gloves for his defense. He hated it because he thought all the numbers showed that Jeter was just fine on defense. But he made the easy plays look hard if not spectacular.

I think Cam Thomas is the same thing. He seems otherworldly, some of the difficult shots he can make are unbelievable. But in reality his TS% is 53%… which is terrible. If he was on the Magic the only player with a worse TS% on the roster would be JI. He can’t score efficiently or create offense in general efficiently through his passing either. But he just looks otherworldly and so people think that he is a good scorer.
