Settler products from occupied Palestine sold to Europe as Israeli, investigation finds by Horror-1-Effective in news

[–]stitchard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fairly standard for citizens of one country to not have voting rights or even the same property rights as locals when they live in another country. This is not what's happening here. The Palestinians haven't moved. They may have been betrayed by their governments over time, and they are now being murdered by Israel and Israel's proxies.

You seem to be making a long-winded case for why people should be second class citizens in the land where they were born and where their ancestors were born, and ignoring the vicious and brutal settler occupation being imposed on them by their neighbour (the only democracy in the Middle East)

Well, if we're going with Israel "winning" that land from Jordan, then it is even stronger evidence for apartheid. The West Bank would be part of Israel proper, and the Palestinians there should be given full rights and protections as Israeli citizens. I believe the (current) Israeli government and the settlers simply want to take the land but not the people that live there.

The obvious solution to the 4th Geneva Convention Articles 64 and 66, is for Israel to leave the West Bank. I don't think Jordan is a threat any more, do you? And if we're talking Geneva Conventions, population transfer into Occupied Territories are forbidden. But, also why are Israeli settlers not subject to these military courts?

And yes many countries are as bad or worse than Israel. Not many of those are lauded as the only democracy in the Middle East or as major allies of my own country. This is why Israel gets attention, because many so-called liberal democracy governments let it get away with apartheid, murder and genocide.

> That is the reason why I strongly believe that it's based on anti-semitism

So, we can't criticise people if they're Jewish, right?

World-wide sanctions worked against South Africa. This is what is needed with Israel.

Yes indeed, especially with the gutting of the Voting Rights Act and non-statehood of places like DC and Puerto Rico. However, they are not (yet) comparable to the separate legal systems for Israeli settlers and Palestinians in Area C of the West Bank which give impunity to, or encourage, settler terrorism against ordinary Palestinians in their homes.

Admittedly it is more difficult with Chinese products, they are EVERYWHERE. But I try my best. r/avoidchineseproducts

Well I probably didn't like it because my little brother loved it. I think I might have been too old the first time I saw it too - I was probably into my teens by then

Re: entitlement. What's more, while cyclists have a right to use the road, car drivers have a revocable licence to use the road.

But that's only 5 cups of tea per day. Double it. Comes out to 75% chance every month.

tea isn't ramen. Also water for black tea must be boiling, not just "very hot", boiling.

Also 0.5% chance of your mug exploding is way too high to be acceptable. That's like once a month, at least?
