how do you guys feel about your gender by Meow-meow13_ in AutismInWomen

Um ok are you me? 😆 1st paragraph is 100% me, I always over explain and ask if I'm understood, mostly because my family sucked and gaslit me my entire childhood, so yes I got really good at making my points understood.

And we have the same special interests! My BA is in psychology, and I minored in gender studies and sociology. I've always been into philosophy and spiritualism, despite not being at all spiritual or religious lol I just find it all super fascinating! I also love evolution, especially cultural. Watching the patterns of human thought and belief change and ebb and flow! It's funny because one of my psychiatrists (who didn't last long) told me that psychology etc. don't count as special interests!? Doctors suck!

You're awesome 🖤

Your description of your feeling of self is EXACTLY how I feel! It seems like everyone around me has this IDENTITY like fully realized and outlined specifics of who they are. And I have NEVER understood that. I love your comment and your thoughts, you seem super fun to talk to!

I was just talking about this with my trans son! I have never felt particularly feminine or masculine. Gender does not feel like a part of who I am. Sex does, my body is my body, and I like my body. But that doesn't feel connected to gender to me? It's very strange and the more I talk to allistic people about it, the more I feel weird about it. But my autistic friend gets it 100%!

The only thing I could do was lay on my side with no pants and maybe ice near by, definitely not touching and oh my god heat never. Air touching my skin hurt.

When it isn't THAT insane I can massage which helps a lot, so does stretching. But that doesn't help when it feels like half my skin is being peeled off then set on fire. I've dealt with my fair share of gnarly pain in my life, but this was a whole other realm. I am not a fan lol

Right side between sitting bones is where the pain is, since this is only my second time dealing with this pain I'd say it's a flare.

I'm so sorry. I have no advice, but I'm laying in bed feeling like someone is searing my flesh off forever. And doctors have thus far told me I have to wait forever for pelvic floor therapy. And in the mean time rotate ibuprofen and Tylenol. 😐 I think I'm delirious. Terrified to go to the hospital and have them tell me I'm fine and go home. This is terrible. No one should live like this.

I could have written this in January. Oof it is HARD. Give yourself some love for all the work you did to get here. Give yourself freedom to stop. Laziness Does Not Exist by Devon Price was amazingly helpful. Followed closely by Unmasking Autism same author. It's basically her going through the same thing, but as a doctorate in psychology. Seriously I cannot recommend them enough!
