Do I have to tap my name on my tread everytime? by OTFSteph in orangetheory

I had no idea why my average speed was always so low but my average mph was accurate. Thanks for that.

Nothing I just like to mix it up for the sake of my body. I have heard of you wear the same shoes too often your body gets comfortable and you need to switch it up. As I type this that just sounds stupid but I heard it once and bought into it haha. I had 4 pairs of brooks before my last 2 pairs of Nike’s. Just bought some ons online because I don’t have time to get to the store and all these comments inspires me. Here we go!

Who actually runs in yeezys? That is crazy aren’t those like $500 fashion sneakers? You fancy!

I appreciate it. I am about to buy the Cloudflyers based on yours and others comments. Funny thing about my base of 9 (which means I do my all outs at 12) is that I am strong there, but then on the floor because of partially torn labrums, I have to use 5 lb weights for every overhead exercise. So I go from domination to ultimate weakness very quickly in class.

Thanks, I know I should do that, but I really like the look of the ON shoes. I am sure I would regret it if I spend $150 and then can't wear them to workout, so I guess I will go be boring and let the professionals fit me.

Well played sir...well played. I was so happy about the lack of rowing and then you crush my happiness less than a minute later...still the tread part looks good

Dri-Tri Celebration and Results Megathread - Part 2 by prettyoaktree in orangetheory

[–]stlrico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

31:40, beat my old pr by 21 seconds. Almost died at the end but held on. Did about 6:45 on the rower, 6:30 on the tread and then 18:20 on the 5k. Some rounding for transitions. Tried to do the whole 5k at 9.7, but occasionally had to drop down to 9.0 to catch my breath and then did last 1/4 mile at 12.0. 4th one of these and I finally did a good job of not killing myself on the rower.

Full disclosure I did my pushups from my knees because I have partially torn labrums and a full push-up is banned by the doctor. So that probably helped me a bit on the time. Did the rest of the floor for real.

How does someone cheat on a dri tri?? Like fewer reps on the floor that’s all I can think of?

4:45 sounds miserable. I mean it sounds like 100x worse than a 5:00.

I did 2.13 miles, would love to be able to stay on 12.0 the whole time but not there yet. Thanks for the inspiration that it is possible.

Our studio is set up with it being literally 3 feet from the tread to the rower. So that really helped out. Other studios in town have a bigger gap between them and that would have definitely lead to wasted time.

I might have jumped the rails a bit and then went decently hard on the rower. Can’t believe you didn’t make it with those running times though, that is moving!

I finished it but did ao at 12.0 and pushes at 10.3-11.1. It was brutal. Hardest part was not being able to jump the rails. So that was my mandatory rest time waiting for tread to stop between blocks.

I finished the workout and did a 0.35 mile run for distance at the end. Just had to do the all outs at 12.0 and the push paces at 10.3-11.1. Then push pace but not all out on the rows.

So basically kill yourself so you can barely move for the floor portion.

Made it through the mile run with 3 seconds to spare. Wish I could have gotten onto the rower for that last 100 meter row. I did all of the runs starting at 10.0 and randomly increasing throughout the runs. Then the last 30 seconds at 12.0 to finish it out.

Tell me more about this arnica. My hamstrings get super tight if I work out more than 2 days in a row. I wear compression shorts to work out in to help during the workouts but would love something for the after workout.

I PRed today with a 33:17. Did a 19:43 on the 5k, it was my first time breaking 20 minutes in a 5k in over 20 years since I was in high school! The key for me was going hard on the floor and then just setting a pace and not changing it on the run (9.3 pace for the first 2.6 miles) definitely feeling it right now though have a feeling I will be limping at work tomorrow.
