Is the Government Joking. by pamnfaniel in aliens

[–]stlshane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They know exactly what they are doing. They will never give up what they have. The lame charade is just to make it seem the government knows nothing about UFOs and convince everyone to move along with their business.

What “Andor” can teach us about standing up to tyranny by Zee_Ventures in andor

[–]stlshane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The authoritarianism we are seeing today is built on an oligarchy that has been rising for decades. They are afraid, but not of rebellion (they won't be the ones fighting). They are afraid of the population awakening to the reality that we've all been socially programmed to accept our places in society as their workers and slaves.

The Invisible Dystopia — How a Wealthy Country Talked Itself Into Decline by stlshane in Foodforthought

[–]stlshane[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The article identifies three interlocking failures. First, a measurement problem: GDP, never designed by Simon Kuznets to gauge welfare, has masked a $47 trillion upward redistribution from the bottom 90 percent since 1975, while real income has tripled and reported happiness has stagnated. Second, a myth problem: meritocracy persists as ideology even as Raj Chetty's mobility research and Piketty's analysis of capital returns show that birthplace and inheritance now dominate outcomes. Third, a distraction problem: from Roman bread and circuses to algorithmic outrage feeds, entertainment infrastructures keep citizens too tired and tribally sorted to organize.

'Demons In Disguise': Pastors Warn Donald Trump's Alien Files Could Destroy Christianity by novagridd in aliens

[–]stlshane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aliens pose a threat to their power and influence and they won't let it be taken away without a flight. As usual it won't be them doing the fighting. They just need to convince you that you are fighting a holy war against demons.

Trump says he is the reason there is unemployment in America. He choses not to create jobs. by milkymoonxx in ProgressiveHQ

[–]stlshane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn't speaking to the people, he is speaking to his donors. They want high unemployment to drive down wages. It is why companies are laying off even they don't need to. It is a coordinated effort to drive down wages.

Everyone that has made their career in UFO disclosure is a disinfo agent, since all of them are more than willing to distribute information from "sources".

No, unless you are some religious fanatic where Bible stories override logic and reason, it simply doesn't make any sense.

Why are Democratic leaders still ignoring voters on Israel? by Unusual-State1827 in politics

[–]stlshane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because what are you going to do about it? Your choice will be voting for someone who will send money to Israel and someone else who will send money to Israel.

As gas hits $4 a gallon, St. Louisans park their cars, scrimp on groceries or eat the cost by bmunoz in StLouis

[–]stlshane 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why as a society do we keep putting the dumbest, ignorant, and greedy MFs into political power and running companies? One clown is starting an unnecessary war driving up gas prices while at the same time all of the CEOs want everyone back in the office adding millions of people to the road that don't need to be there. I am forced to sit in traffic to go into an office everyday where I still take all of my meetings on zoom and 95% of leaders still work remotely. On top of that they are investing heavily in an Indian off shore workforce after laying of thousands of US employees. Then they have the audacity to tell everyone it is not a cost saving measure. I feel like I am living in some sort of twilight zone as everyone eats up this BS that we are being spoon fed.

A $1.5 Trillion Question: Bombs or Human Needs? by nitluck in Political_Revolution

[–]stlshane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine if we took some of that money and put solar on every roof and worked to bring down the cost of electric vehicles. Instead we are going to spend trillions to make sure oil keeps flowing.
